PC leader Tim Hudak Offers Condolences to Family of Constable Garrett Styles – June 28, 2011

Queen’s Park – Ontario PC Leader Tim Hudak today issued the following statement regarding the tragic death of a police officer near Newmarket this morning.

“On behalf of the Ontario PC Caucus, I want to offer our deepest sympathies to the family of Const. Garrett Styles, who was struck and killed during a traffic stop early this morning in York Region.

“Ontario families rely on the men and women of our police forces to keep us safe every day. When we lose one of our officers, we’re reminded of the risks they face as they work to keep us out of harm’s way, and the rare combination of skill and bravery that each one brings to the job. This tragedy will be deeply felt by the entire community.

“Our thoughts and prayers are with Const. Styles’ family and the York Region Police during this difficult time.”

  1. It’s wrong to use a tragedy as a political football.

  2. @Jamie Labonte.. As much as I despise Hudak-Hutton’s politics, I don’t think offering condolences in this sad situation is using “a tragedy as a political football”.

  3. Hudak did the right thing. Someone died and the Leader of the Conservative Party of Ontario offered his condolences. Did any of the others?
