Pre Christmas Blaze Strikes 52 Lennox Street in Cornwall Ontario – November 24, 2011

CFN – Fire stuck at 52 Lennox in Cornwall Ontario.   Fire fighters attacked the blaze, but as you can see from the pictures it was a bit late.  No current reports of injuries yet and we will update as more info becomes available.

 No cause was reported yet in the blaze, but comments suggested arson was at play.  

The building had been reported vacant for some time.

Kudos to the ladies from Tim Horton’s for bringing some coffee over the fire fighters!

Fire Department Responds to Structure Fire

The Event
At 21:40 Thursday November 24, a call was received by the 911 operator advising of a structure fire, on Lennox between Edward and McConnell Ave
The Response
The Fire Services Department responded with four (4) trucks and 11 firefighters. From Headquarters and East End Stations.

The Summary
Smoke was visible from McConnell Ave, at Montreal Road. Upon arrival structure was fully involved; flames were coming from the front window of the structure. Heavy smoke was coming out of the windows and eaves. The building was vacant and boarded up at the time of the fire. Fire was brought under control after 90 minutes

Fire Prevention office and Police services are conducting fire cause and determination.
