Tree Lighting Ceremony in Ingleside by Reg Coffey – December 5, 2011

Elves Adjusting the Lights on Ingleside Christmas Tree

CFN – Santa Clause made a visit to Ingleside on Saturday night. He arrived on a horse drawn wagon instead of his usual ride. Apparently the deer are building up their stamina for the big night and the sleigh was in the shop for a tune-up. He made hundreds of kids, big and small, young and old, happy by handing out gifts and turning the lights on the Christmas tree in front of the fire station.

This annual event is sponsored by OPG, Ingleside Fire Department and the South Stormont Chamber of Commerce. Residents of South Stormont and their children filed into the fire station to help celebrate the season and to donate food and toys to the Osnabruck Food and Toy Drive. A couple of checks were generously donated to the drive as well.

There were toys for all the children and hot chocolate and cookies for all.

Linda Halliday, Patsy Timmers and Lesley O'Gorman hand out hot chocolate and cookies.

Children and parents lined up for wagon rides.

The gifts were given, the carols were sung, the wagon was ridden and the tree was lit. All in all, it was another great start to the festive season here in Ingleside.
