South Stormont Mayor Bryan McGillis Donates Funds to Senior and Cultural Groups – December 15, 2011

CFN – Mayor Bryan McGillis expressed gratitude at the December 14, 2011 South Stormont Council meeting to all the businesses that supported his term as Warden of the United Counties of SD&G in 2010. Local businesses were happy to contribute in response to the positive working relationship and support experienced with the Mayor in the past.

Mayor McGillis is pleased to be able to donate remaining funds to South Stormont area not-for profit groups. He indicated that although there are many very deserving groups, there simply is not enough money for everyone. He further stated,

“It gives me great pleasure to be able to help out our seniors and cultural groups, these are both near and dear to my heart.”

Cornwall Township Historical Society and Senior’s representatives Alex McGillivray, Long Sault Friendly Circle, Mayor McGillis and Kirke and Terri Dupuis, South Stormont Seniors’ Support Centre.

The Cornwall Township Historical Society, Lost Villages Historical Society, South Stormont Seniors’ Support Centre and Long Sault Friendly Circle Seniors groups each received $835.50.
