BREAK & ENTER ARREST

 

            Cornwall, ON- Amanda Stevens, 27 of Cornwall was arrested on the 10th of February, 2012. It is alleged that on the 6th of February, 2012 she entered a residence and removed property. Police were contacted and an investigation followed. She was charged with break and enter with intent. She was released to attend court on the 1st of March, 2012.

 

BREACH OF PROBATION & DRUGS

 

            Cornwall, ON- Georgiou Varvana, 22 of Cornwall was arrested on the 11th of February, 2012. He was bound by probation order with a relevant condition of abstain from the purchase, possession, or consumption of alcohol or other intoxicating substances and to keep the peace and be of good behaviour. It is alleged that on the 11th of February, 2012 he was found to be under the influence of alcohol by a member of the Cornwall Community Police Service Patrol Division. Subsequently to his arrest he was found to be in possession of a controlled substance believed to be marijuana. He was charged with 2 counts of breach of probation order and possession of controlled substance. He was released to appear in court on the 29th of March, 2012.

 

BREACH OF PROBATION

 

            Cornwall, ON-  A 15 year-old Cornwall youth was arrested on the 11th of February, 2012. The youth was bound by a probation order with the condition of no association with persons objected by parent and youth worker. It is alleged that on the 11th of February, 2012, the youth was found to be with an individual objected by her father. Police were contacted and an investigation followed. The youth was charged with breach of probation order and released to appear in court on the 22nd of February, 2012. The youth’s name was not released as per provision under the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

 

DRUGS

 

            Cornwall, ON- A 17 year-old Cornwall youth was arrested on the 11th of February, 2012. It is alleged that on the 10th of February, 2012 school staff searched the youth’s locker and found controlled substance believed to be marijuana. The youth was charged with possession of a controlled substance- marihuana and possession for the purpose of trafficking. The youth was released to an adult with a court date of the 5th of April, 2012. The youth’s name was not released as per provision under the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

 

WARRANT

 

            Cornwall, ON- A 44 year-old Chatham-Kent man was arrested on the 11th of February, 2012 under the strength of an outstanding warrant. It is alleged that on the 10th of September, 2009, he contacted his 65 year-old mother and threaten her. Police were contacted and an investigation followed. He was held in custody until court the following day. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in this incident.

 

DOMESTIC ASSAULT

 

            Cornwall, ON- A 25 year-old Cornwall female was arrested on the 11th of February, 2012. It is alleged that on the 11th of February, 2012 she got into an altercation with her 24 year-old boyfriend when she assaulted him. Police were contacted and an investigation followed. She was charged with domestic assault and released to appear in court on the 20th of March, 2012. Her name was not released as it would identify the victim in this incident.

 

BREACH OF UNDERTAKING

 

            Cornwall, ON- Anthony Doskas, 23 of Cornwall was arrested on the 12th of February, 2012. He was bound by an undertaking with the relevant conditions to keep the peace and be of good behaviour, to reside at a certain address in Rosemont, Quebec, notify the court of any change in address in advance in writing and formally abstain from consuming any alcoholic beverages. It is alleged that on the 12th of February, 2012 he was found to be under the influence of alcohol by members of the Cornwall Community Police Service Patrol Division. He was charged with 4 counts of breach of undertaking and held in custody until court the following day.

Cornwall, ON- Denis Charlebois, 35 of St.Andrews was arrested on the 12th of February, 2012. He was bound by an undertaking with the relevant condition to remain within the Province of Ontario.  It is alleged that on the 12th of February, 2012 it was reported by the United States Customs Agency of the refusal of his entry to the United States. He was detained by the Canadian Boarder Service Agency and turned over to a member of the Cornwall Community Police Service Patrol Division. He was charged with breach of undertaking and released to appear in court on the 21st of February, 2012.

DOMESTIC ASSAULT WITH A WEAPON, ASSAULT CAUSE BODILY HARM & BREACH OF PROBATION

            Cornwall, ON- A 32 year-old Cornwall female was arrested on the 12th of February, 2012. She was bound by a probation order with the condition of keep the peace and be of good behaviour. It is alleged that on the 12th of February, 2012 she got into an altercation with her 35 year-old boyfriend when she assaulted him with a broom, prevented him from leaving the residence and bit him. The victim suffered minor injuries and required medical treatment. Police were contacted and an investigation followed. She was charged with forcible confinement, assault with a weapon, assault cause bodily harm and breach of probation. She was held in custody until court the following day. Her name was not released as it would identify the victim in this incident.

BREACH OF RECOGNIZANCE & PROBATION ORDER

            Cornwall, ON- Marc Fournier, 29 of Cornwall was arrested on the 12th of February, 2012. He was bound by a recognizance  with the conditions to reside at a certain address, abide by a curfew of 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. daily and to keep the peace and be of good behaviour. He was also bound by a probation order with the condition to keep the peace and be of good behaviour. It is alleged that on the 21st of January, 2012 it was reported that he did not reside at the said residence and was not present at curfew. He turned himself into police and was charged with 3 counts of breach of recognizance and breach of probation order. He was held in custody until court the following day.

ASSAULT & BREACH OF PROBATION

            Cornwall, ON- Maria Leblanc, 44 of Cornwall was arrested on the 12th of February, 2012. She was bound by a probation order with relevant conditions, keep the peace and be of good behaviour and not to consume alcohol. It is alleged that on the 12th of February, 2012 she consumed alcohol and assaulted her acquaintance’s 18 year-old son and a 14 year-old friend. The victims were not injured. Police were contacted and an investigation followed. She was charged with 2 counts of assault and breach of probation order. She was released to appear on court on the 6th of March, 2012

IMPAIRED DRIVER’S


(North Dundas) –  On 12Feb12, at approximately 8:00pm, SD&G OPP officers responded to a report of a driving complaint on County Road 43, North Dundas Township.

The vehicle (1997 Dodge Pick-up) was located in the ditch on County Road 43 at approximately 8:45pm. The 40yr old male driver (from Las Vegas, Nevada) was apprehended after a short foot chase and arrested, he faces charges of:

  • Impaired Operation / Motor Vehicle
  • Exceed 80 Milligrams Blood Alcohol Content
  • Obstruct / Resist Arrest

He was held in custody pending an appearance in Cornwall court.

(South Glengarry) – On 12Feb12, at approximately 3:30am, SD&G OPP officers responded to a report of a vehicle in the ditch on Highway 401 near the Boundary Road on ramp.

The vehicle (2001 Pontiac) was located and the 53yr old male driver (Jacques LACHANCE of Martintown, On.) was found to be operating a vehicle while under the influence of alcohol.

He was arrested and faces charges of:

  • Impaired Operation / Motor Vehicle
  • Exceed 80 Milligrams Blood Alcohol Content

He is scheduled to appear 07Mar12 in Alexandria court.

(South Glengarry) – On 12Feb12, at approximately 2:30am, SD&G OPP officers had occasion to conduct a traffic stop on Highway 401, South Glengarry Township.

The stop revealed that the 45yr old female driver (Lucie RIVET of Dollard-Des-Ormeaux, QC) was operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol.

She was arrested and faces charges of:

  • Impaired Operation / Motor Vehicle
  • Exceed 80 Milligrams Blood Alcohol Content

She is scheduled to appear 21Feb12 in Cornwall court.

(South Dundas) – On 10Feb12, at approximately 11:00pm, SD&G OPP officers responded to a report of a vehicle in the ditch on County Road 8, South Dundas Township.

The investigation revealed that the 43yr old female driver (Sherry GALLIVAN of Morrisburg, On) was operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol.

She was arrested and faces charges of:

  • Impaired Operation / Motor Vehicle
  • Exceed 80 Milligrams Blood Alcohol Content

She is scheduled to appear 21Feb12 in Cornwall court.

(North Dundas) – On 10Feb12, at approximately 9:00pm, SD&G OPP officers responded to a report of a vehicle in the ditch on County Road 43, North Dundas Township.

The vehicle (2006 Chevy) was located and the 46yr old female driver (Lorna BOARDMAN of Ottawa, On) was found to be operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol.

She was arrested and faces charges of:

  • Impaired Operation / Motor vehicle
  • Exceed 80 Milligrams Blood Alcohol Content

She is scheduled to appear 21Feb12 in Cornwall court.

BREAK AND ENTER


(South Glengarry) – On 12Feb12, at approximately 10:00am, SD&G OPP officers responded to a report of a break and enter on Concession 6, South Glengarry Township.

The investigation revealed that sometime between 05th-12th Feb unknown suspect(s) attended a residence and removed a flat screen T.V and various articles of jewellery.

The investigation is ongoing.

(South Dundas) – On 11Feb12, at approximately 8:30am, SD&G OPP officers responded to a report of a break and enter on Brinston Road, South Dundas Township.

The investigation revealed that sometime overnight unknown suspect(s) attended a residence and removed a 2004 Polaris ATV and damaged a 2009 Chevy Pick-up truck.

The investigation is ongoing.
