Obstruct Police

Cornwall, ON- Ronald Marini, 48 of Cornwall was arrested on the 3rd of March 2012. It is alleged that on the 3rd of March 2012 the male was stopped by police while driving a vehicle when he provided a false name. During the ensuing investigation his real name was learned and he was found to be in possession of a small amount of an illegal substance believed to be cocaine. He was charged with Possession of a controlled substance and Obstruct Police. He was released to appear in court on the 3rd of April 2012.

Breach of Probation

Cornwall, ON- Jeffrey McAteer, 31 of Cornwall was arrested on the 3rd of March 2012. He was bound by the provisions of a Probation order with the relevant conditions to keep the peace and be of good behaviour and to abstain from the purchase, possession and consumption of alcohol. On the 3rd of March 2012 the male was observed by a member of the Cornwall Community Police Service Patrol Division stumbling as he walked on Second Street. When questioned by police an odour of an alcoholic beverage was detected emanating from his breath. The male was subsequently charged with breach of Probation and released to appear in court on the 10th of April 2012.

Cornwall, ON- Kalie Crawford, 18 of Cornwall was arrested on the 4th of March 2012. She was bound by the provisions of a Probation order with the relevant condition to keep the peace and be of good behavior. She was further bound by the provisions of a recognizance with the relevant conditions to abide by the rules of the residence, not to be away from residence except with surety, follow all conditions on probation order. It is alleged that on the 4th of March 2012 she left the residence without her surety. As a result police were contacted and an investigation ensued. She was subsequently charged with Breach of Probation and three counts of Breach of Recognizance. She was held in custody until court the following day.

Mischief under $5000

Cornwall, ON- A 25 year old Cornwall female was arrested on the 4th of March 2012. It is alleged that she got into an argument with her 25 year old common law when she broke several household items including a laptop computer. Police were contacted and an investigation followed. The female was later charged with Mischief under $5000 and released to appear in court on the 17th of April 2012. Her name was not released as it would identify the victim in this incident.

Fare Fraud

Cornwall, ON- Perry McDougald, 47 of Cornwall was arrested on the 3rd of March 2012. It is alleged that on the 3rd of March 2012 he got a ride in a local taxi however refused to pay the fare. Police were contacted and an investigation followed. The male was later charged with obtaining transportation by fraud and released to appear in court on the 13th of March 2012.

WARRANT

 

 

Cornwall, ON- Jaimie Lee Campeau, 20 of Cornwall was arrested on the 27th of February 2012 on the strength of a warrant. It is alleged that Campeau breached a condition of his probation by having contact with someone objected to by his probation officer. Campeau was subsequently arrested and held to appear in court the following day.


ASSAULT


Cornwall, ON- A 22 year old female from Cornwall was arrested on the 27th of February 2012. It is alleged that on the 27th of February 2012 she got into a heated verbal altercation with her 22 year old boyfriend and struck him. Police were contacted and an investigation followed. The female was charged with one count of assault and released to appear in court on the 8th of March 2012. The name of the accused was not released as it may identify the victim in this matter.

 

 

Cornwall, ON- A 24 year old Cornwall male was arrested on the 27th of February 2012. He was bound by the provisions of a Probation order with the relevant condition to keep the peace and be of good behaviour. It is alleged that on the 27th of February he got into a physical altercation with his 20 year old common law wife where he grabbed her by the shirt and pushed her. Police were contacted and an investigation followed. During the course of the investigation it was learned that on the 21st of February 2012 he threatened to cause her bodily harm, assaulted her and caused mischief to the residence. The male was arrested by police where he provided a false name and was subsequently charged with assault (x2), Mischief under $5000, Threats to cause bodily harm, Breach of probation and obstruct police. He was held in custody to appear in court the following day. The name of the accused was not released as it may identify the victim in this matter.

 

 

BREACH


Cornwall, ON – Nicholas Bourgeois, 21 of Cornwall was arrested on the 27th of February 2012. He was bound by the provisions of a recognizance with the relevant conditions to keep the peace and be of good behaviour, to abstain from the consumption of alcohol absolutely and not be away from his residence without his surety. It is alleged that on the 27th of February 2012 Bourgeois entered a St. Felix Street residence without permission. Police were contacted and an investigation followed. The male was observed by police walking on Second Street and arrested. During the subsequent investigation it was noted that the male had consumed alcohol. As a result the male was charged with unlawfully in a dwelling and breach of recognizance (x3). The male was held in custody until court the next day.

 

 

Cornwall, ON- Chad Young, 36 of Cornwall was arrested on the 27th of February 2012. He was bound by the provisions of a probation order with the relevant condition to abstain from the consumption of alcohol. It is alleged that on the 27th of February 2012 police received a complaint of an intoxicated male stumbling on Sydney Street. The male was stopped and charged with breach of probation. He will appear in court on the 4th of April 2012.

DOMESTIC INCIDENT


(North Glengarry) –  On 03Mar12, at approximately 6:00pm, SD&G OPP officers responded to a report of a harassment incident on Harrison St. Alexandria, On.

The investigation revealed that a 40yr old male (from Alexandria, On) was continually contacting his ex-girlfriend after he had been advised to stop.

The male was arrested and faces a charge of:

  • Criminal Harassment – repeatedly communicate with

He is scheduled to appear 17Apr12 in Cornwall court.

 

CHARGES LAID


(North Glengarry) – On 03Mar12, at approximately 4:00pm, SD&G OPP officers responded to a request to assist paramedics on Main St. Alexandria, On.

The investigation revealed that a 27yr old male was in need of assistance and when paramedics and police arrived the male became actively resistant.

He was arrested and faces charges of:

  • Breach of Probation
  • Assault Police Officer
  • Obstruct/Resist Peace Officer

He was held in custody pending an appearance in Cornwall court.

 

WEEKEND TRAFFIC RESULTS – HIGHWAY 138


(SD&G) – SD&G OPP members continue to be proactive in keeping our roads safe by targeting unsafe drivers. This past weekend police employed numerous traffic enforcement strategies to send a clear message that aggressive driving habits will not be tolerated.

Results are as follows:

Speeding – 16
No Insurance Card – 2
No License – 1
Expired Val Tag – 2
Handheld Device – 1
Suspended Driver – 1
Disobey Stop Sign – 1
Fail to Surrender Permit – 1

SD&G OPP officers also laid four charges with relation to stunt driving on 401 and 417 Highways. Two of the drivers held G1 License’s.
