Assault

Cornwall, Ont. – A 20-year-old Cornwall resident was charged with Assault Causing bodily harm and assault with a weapon. It is alleged that he got into an argument with his father and threw a bowl striking him in the face causing a cut over his eye and cutting his ear.  The accused was released on recognizance with conditions to appear in court on April 3rd  2012. His name was not released as it would identify the victim.


Domestic


Cornwall, Ont. – A 28-year-old Akwesasne resident was charged with Break and enter, Mischief and two (2) counts of breach of a Justice of the Peace recognizance. It is alleged that on March 8th, 2012 at approximately 11.00 PM the accused attended the residence of his ex-girlfriend and was denied entry. He subsequently kicked the door causing damage and gained entry. The victim was able to call 911 and the accused fled the scene prior to police arrival. Investigating revealed that the accused was currently on a J.P. recognizance with conditions of not to associate or communicate directly or indirectly with the victim and not to attend within 50 meters of her place of residence. A warrant for his arrest was requested.

On March 9th, 2012 at 12:09 AM while on general patrol members of the CCPS saw the accused and placed him under arrest for Break and enter Mischief and two (2) counts of breach of a Justice of the Peace recognizance. He was he was held in custody to appear in court in the morning. The name of the accused was not released as it would identify the victim.

ASSAULT & BREACH

 

            Cornwall, ON- Laura Green, 39 of Cornwall was arrested on the 7th of March, 2012. She was bound by two probation orders with the relevant condition to keep the peace and be of good behaviour. It is alleged that on the 2nd of March, 2012 she was at a Montreal Road establishment when she assaulted a 31 year-old female stranger. The victim did not required medical attention. Police were contacted and an investigation followed. She was charged with breach of probation order and assault. She was released to appear in court on the 3rd of April, 2012.

 

BREACH

 

            Cornwall, ON- Peter Thomas, 24 of Cornwall was arrested on the 7th of March, 2012. He was bound by a probation order with the condition of to abstain from the purchase/possession/consumption of alcohol. It is alleged that on the 7th of March, 2012 he was found to be under the influence of alcohol by a member of the Cornwall Community Police Service. He was charged with breach of probation order and released to appear in court on the 10th of April, 2012.

 

FRAUD OVER

 

            Cornwall, ON- Carole Snyder, 45 of Cornwall was arrested on the 7th of March, 2012. It is alleged that between January 2010 and February 2011 she fraudulently obtain payment from the Ontario government. Police were contacted and an investigation followed. She was charged with fraud over $5000.00 and released to appear in court on the 24th of April, 2012.

DRUGS SEIZED


(North Dundas) –  On 07Mar12, at approximately 11:30am, SD&G OPP officers responded to a report of a youth in possession of marihuana at a high school in North Dundas, Township.

The investigation revealed that a 15yr old male was possession of approximately 30grams of suspected marihuana.

He was arrested and faces a charge of:

  • Possession Schedule II Cannabis Marihuana

 

He is scheduled to appear 05Apr12 in Cornwall court.

The name of the youth is not being released due to the provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

 

STOLEN VEHICLE


(North Dundas) – On 07Mar12, at approximately 2:30pm, SD&G OPP officers responded to a theft on Belmeade Road, North Dundas Township.

The investigation revealed that sometime between 03-07 Mar12 unknown suspects attended a residence and removed two Artic Cat snowmobiles from a shed.

The investigation is ongoing.
