WARRANT

 

            Cornwall, ON- David Rafter, 21 of Cornwall was arrested on June 25th, 2012 under the strength of an outstanding warrant. It is alleged that a warrant was issued when he breached his Conditional Sentence Order on June 22nd, 2012. He was held in custody until court later that day.

 

THEFT & BREACH OF PROBATION

 

            Cornwall, ON- Steven Dufresne, 43 of Cornwall was arrested on June 25th, 2012. He was bound by a Probation Order with  the condition to keep the peace and be of good behavior. It is alleged that on June 25th, 2012 he attended a Ninth Street store and removed property without making any attempt to pay for it. He was detained by the store’s Lost Prevention Officer and turned over to a member of the Cornwall Community Police Service Patrol Division. He was charged with Theft under $5000.00 and breach of Probation Order. He was released to appear in court on August 2nd, 2012.

 

ASSAULT WITH WEAPON, WEAPONS DANGEROUS & BREACHES

            Cornwall, ON- A 17-year-old Cornwall youth was arrested on June 25th, 2012. The youth was bound by two Youth Criminal Justice Act Probation Order with the condition to keep the peace and be of good behaviour and prohibited from possessing any firearm, cross-bow, prohibited weapon, restricted weapon or prohibited device. It is alleged that on June 25th, 2012 she discharged a pellet gun at a 17-year-old male acquaintance. The victim suffered minor injuries. Police were contacted and an investigation followed. The youth was charged with Assault with a Weapon, Weapons Dangerous and 2 counts of Breach of Probation Order. The youth was released to an adult to appear in court on July 12th, 2012. The youth’s name was not released as per provision under the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

 

DOMESTIC ASSAULT, FORCIBLE CONFINEMENT, MISCHIEF & UNLAWFULLY IN DWELLING

 

Cornwall, ON- A 42-year-old Cornwall male was arrested on June 25th, 2012. It is alleged that on June 23th, 2012 he gained entry to his 36-year-old girlfriend’s residence unlawfully. It is also alleged that between June 24th and 25th, 2012 he got into an altercation with his girlfriend, prevented her from leaving the residence, caused damaged to property and assaulted her. The victim did not require medical treatment. Police were contacted and an investigation followed. He was charged with Unlawfully in Dwelling House, Forcible Confinement, Domestic Assault and Mischief under $5000.00. He was held in custody until court the following day.

 

DANGEROUS OPERATION

 

            Cornwall, ON- A 14-year-old and a 16-year-old both of Cornwall were arrested on June 25th, 2012. It is alleged that on June 25th, 2012 they were operating 4-wheelers in a dangerous manner within the City of Cornwall. Police were contacted and the youths were located. They were charged with Dangerous Operation of motor vehicles and released to adults to appear in court on August 9th, 2012 to answer to the charge. The youth’s names were not released as per provision under the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

 

DOMESTIC ASSAULT, CRIMINAL HARASSMENT, ASSAULT WITH WEAPON & DANGEROUS WEAPON

 

            Cornwall, ON- A 21-year-old Cornwall male was arrested on June 25th, 2012. It is alleged that on June 25th, 2012 he attended a 22-year-old acquaintance’s residence while searching for his 20-year-old ex-girlfriend when he sprayed bear spray in the residence and contaminating 4 individuals. The 4 male victims were not injured. Police were contacted and an investigation revealed that he allegedly got into altercations with his 20-year-old ex-girlfriend on July 4th, 2011 and June 15th, 2012 as well as has been continuously attempting to have contact with her. The female victim did not require medical treatment. He was charged with Possession of Weapon for Dangerous Purpose, 4 counts of Assault with a Weapon, Criminal Harassment, Unlawfully in a Dwelling House and 2 counts of Domestic Assault. The male’s name was not released as it may identify the victims.

ASSAULT


(South Dundas) – On 25Jun12, at approximately 11:00pm, SD&G OPP officers responded to a report of an assault on Ottawa St. South Dundas Township.


The investigation revealed that two females were involved in a verbal altercation when a 17yr old female struck the other one in the face.


She was arrested and faces a charge of:

She is scheduled to appear 28July12 in Cornwall court.

  1. It really amazes me at how many domestics assaults occur in this city. Seems like the the problem is escalating.
