Cornwall Ontario Mayor Robert “Bob” Kilger On Debora Daigle Becoming CAO – QUOTE – August 2, 2012

CFN – Mayor Robert “Bob” Kilger has sent in the following statement in rebuttal to our story about CAO Paul Fitzpatrick’s molestation of the taxpayers public purse by taking executive leave.   LINK

We are publishing it in its entirety, unedited, and comments will be CLOSED for this item on The Cornwall Free News.

We also wish to make clear at no time prior to or during the writing of the original piece did Mayor Kilger state that it was his intent to favour Ms Daigle directly to CFN for the position.

I take exception at your association of my name and my office to the person of Ms. Debora Daigle and the choice of Cornwall’s future CAO and the fact that she is “rumoured to be the favorite of Mayor Kilger”.

I want to be clear.  Ms. Debora Daigle, as the Manager of Housing and Social Services, is a valued member of our Administration Team for whom I have great respect and I wish her well in any future plans she may have, but at no time have I expressed to anyone a preference towards any member of our Administration Team as a personal favorite to become the new CAO.

In the end, I and Council are committed to find the best candidate to become Cornwall’s next CAO through the recruitment process which is open to all.
