Nadezhda Tolokonnikova Canadian Twist to PUSSY RIOT? (PROFANITY WARNING) UPDATED – 2 YEAR SENTENCES!

CFN–  These are the lyrics that have landed three women in jail, charged with Hooliganism, and possibly going away for three years!

(Chorus)

St. Maria, Virgin, Drive away Putin
Drive away! Drive away Putin!
(end chorus)

Black robe, golden epaulettes
All parishioners are crawling and bowing
The ghost of freedom is in heaven
Gay pride sent to Siberia in chains

The head of the KGB is their chief saint
Leads protesters to prison under escort
In order not to offend the Holy
Women have to give birth and to love

Holy shit, shit, Lord’s shit!
Holy shit, shit, Lord’s shit!

(Chorus)
St. Maria, Virgin, become a feminist
Become a feminist, Become a feminist
(end chorus)

Church praises the rotten dictators
The cross-bearer procession of black limousines
In school you are going to meet with a teacher-preacher
Go to class – bring him money!

Patriarch Gundyaev believes in Putin
Bitch, you better believed in God
Belt of the Virgin is no substitute for mass-meetings
In protest of our Ever-Virgin Mary!

(Chorus)
St. Maria, Virgin, Drive away Putin
Drive away! Drive away Putin!
(end chorus)

Defo not McCartney & Lennon or even Lenin, but imagine being locked away for words?   For up to seven years.   I mean Holy George Carlin!  Not even his Seven Dirty Words would get that kind of sentence in most of the world, but that’s exactly happening in Russia with world wide out rage at the treatment of the Pussy Riot girls.

The funniest thing is that if not for the charge would anyone even know about Pussy Riot?  But that’s what happens in Totalitarian states and something the world should have concern for in this day and age where our freedoms ebb away from us all.

While over 30 people were originally charged officials in Russia settled on the three women for a show case.  The women were denied bail and have been held in court.

Now it turns out that there may be a Canadian spin to this story.   One of the defendents, Nadezhda Tolokonnikova, is featured in a National Post story today.   LINK

“We have a woman who has been held in prison for months on end, sleep deprived and denied contact with her family,” said Ms. Kirbie, whose roots can be traced back to Russia. “If this woman is a permanent resident of Canada, doesn’t the federal government have a moral obligation, if not a legal one, to find out more about what’s going and potentially help this woman?”

So CFN viewers does Freedom of Speech have limits?  Should Russia let these women go free?   Did these women  violate or desecrate a church or is Mr. Putin and friends pulling a Guy Lauzon and being hyper sensitive about their corrupt behavior?   You can post your comments below.

  1. They should never have been put in prison, and should be released immediately. However i don’t think they were invited to the church nor were they wanted after they arrived. Trespass should be their only offence. The Russians(Putin) should do the right thing. Even if only to shut Madonna up.She’s had way more than her fifteen minutes.

  2. ..agreed.. these women certainly do not belong behind bars..however, on another note, this is Russia we are speaking of not Canada..this was a publicity stunt intended to protest its leader in front of a church..quite innocent to us..blasphemy to many Russians..(especially its leader Putin)..kinda reminds me of the type of meatheads who backpack across places like Iran or Afghanistan..get taken hostage..and plead to the West to come bail them out..there are things in this world that you should not do..don’t pull on Supermans cape, don’t piss into the wind, don’t pull the mask off the ‘ol Lone Ranger and don’t mess around with Putin. I am quite certain that in the near future, Putin will release these women on his terms. Remember, we are speaking ’bout a man who tried to sue the Harry Potter franchise because of his remarkable likeness to “Dobby” the house elf.

  3. I don’t even think Stalin himself would put these women away if he were alive and in power! Let’s not forget that Putin is former KGB though…

  4. Obviously Stalin would have had these women put away, their parents, grandparents, uncles, aunts and cousins for three generations plus their friends. Stalin murdered over 26 million people. Time to read a book, Cory.

  5. They should have got more then 2 years. Whether it was purposely done…I am not sure, but there is a more disgusting part that was omitted to this song.

  6. The Russian Church and Russian State are practically boinking… Anything these youngsters did couldn’t hope to match the filth, corruption and depravity of those two great whores — Putin and Kirill.

  7. “They should have got more then 2 years. Whether it was purposely done…I am not sure, but there is a more disgusting part that was omitted to this song.”

    Hey Stella!

It doesn’t matter what is said! You can choose not to listen to the song, right!

    It’s called Freedom of Expression….

Sometimes I think you make asinine and obtuse comments just to elicit an unfavourable response from anyone who believes in freedom.

  8. you all missed the story about the german pilot hired by a Swiss marketing firm to fly over Belorussian air space and drop hundreds of teddy bears with “freedom of expression” flyers attached to them.. The president of BeloRussia is furious that his airspace was trespassed for uch a clandistine anti propoganda movement…and he has issued stricty orders ANYONE OR THING flying over belorussian airspace without express permission from their startegic air command will be shot down!!! no exceptions..the iron curtain is still the iron curtain….the” Pussies” knew what they were doing and shock value is an attention getter! Stalin indeed would have had them schackled, tortured and paraded around as dissidents in the kremlin… like cognitive Sam said read a book!

  9. funny how someone`s freedom of expression won

  10. Hey Cameron…….you say freedom of expression, you are right, that’s exactly what I did, I stated my opinion whether you agree with it or not **s**

  11. Cheap attention getters. The only mistake is giving them the hard sentence. Should have been a standard Russian 15 days for petty hooliganism (generic for disturbance of peace). Plus community service and public apology to the church attendants they offended.

  12. Perhaps when hearing of situations similar to this one people in Canada will understand that they need to get out and vote to protect their freedoms that they enjoy under a democracy. People might also note that when you travel to other countries your legal system is not in tow, you are subject to the laws of the land, like it or stay at home.

  13. And here in Canada, our Dear Leader Harper is busily trying to muzzle our scientists and others. Even the brass at the RCMP have to have their comments approved (filtered) by the PMO.
