Police Blotter for Cornwall Ontario – Thursday November 15, 2012

DOMESTIC WARRANT

 

            Cornwall, ON- A 24-year-old Cornwall female was arrested on November 14th, 2012 under the strength of an outstanding warrant. She was bound by a Probation Order with the conditions of keep the peace and be of good behaviour. It is alleged that on October 19th, 2012 she got into an altercation with her 46-year-old boyfriend when she assaulted him, assaulted him with a bottle and caused damaged to property. The victim suffered minor injuries. Police were contacted and an investigation followed. She was charged with Domestic Assault, Assault with a Weapon, Mischief under $5000 and Breach of Probation. She was held in custody until court the following day. Her name was not released as it would identify the victim in this incident.

 

DOMESTIC ROBBERY

 

Cornwall, ON- A 22-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on November 15th, 2012. It is alleged that on November 14th, 2012 he got into an altercation with his 20-year-old ex-fiancée when he forcefully removed a ring from her finger. The victim did not require medical treatment. Police were contacted and an investigation followed. He was charged with Robbery with Violence. HE was held in custody until court the following day. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in this incident.

DRUG SEARCH WARRANT EXECUTED

 

            Cornwall, ON- Member of the Cornwall Community Police Service Street Crime Unit assisted by the Ontario Provincial Police Drug Enforcement Unit executed a drug warrant shortly before 1:30 pm on November 13th, 2012 at a Bedford Street residence. AS a result of the investigation a female was arrested and charged with 6 drug and criminal code related charges when she was allegedly found to be in possession of controlled substances. Police seized a quantity of substance believed to be cocaine, marijuana and fentanyl. The total value of seized drugs and property is estimated at $3,200.

Sandra Hutt. 35 of Cornwall was charged with Possession of controlled substance- Cocaine, Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking Cocaine, Possession of controlled substance- Marihuana, Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking Marihuana, Possession of controlled substance- Fentanyl and Possession of Property Obtained by Crime. She was released to appear in court on December 20th, 2012.

DRUGS

            Cornwall, ON- Hamza Malik, 19 of Cornwall was arrested on November 13th, 2012. It is alleged that on October 27th, 2012 while at a friend’s residence, he was found to be in possession of a controlled substance believed to be Methamphetamine (speed). Police were contacted and an investigation followed. He was charged with possession of a controlled substance and released to appear in court on December 6th, 2012.

DOMESTIC ASSAULT WITH WEAPON

            Cornwall, ON- A 62-year-old Cornwall female was arrested on November 13th, 2012. It is alleged that she got into an altercation with her 65-year-old husband when she threw a dust pan and TV remote twice at him and caused damaged to property. The victim did not require medical treatment. Police were contacted and an investigation followed. She was charged with 3 counts of Domestic Assault with a weapon and Mischief under $5000. She was released to appear in court on December 11th, 2012. Her name was not released as it would identify the victim.

BREAK & ENTER

Cornwall, ON- The Cornwall Community Police Service are currently investigating a Break & Enter that occurred on November 13th, 2012 at a Sydney Street residence. The suspect(s) gained entry and removed 32’ LG7200 Television, a Blackberry Curve and a wallet containing several personal documents. SD&G OPP INVESTIGATE SUSPICIOUS PERSON
(LONG SAULT, ON) –On November 14, 2012 at approximately 12:45pm, members of the Stormont, Dundas and Glengarry (SDG) Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a report of a suspicious person in the Long Sault area.

As a precautionary measure, officers have secured the area and two schools are in hold and secure as officers investigate. No one has been injured.
