Jacqueline Milner Checked out Spin at the St.Lawrence Acoustic Stage in Morrisburg, Ontario

CFN – Evalyn Parry’s “Spin” with Brad Hart and Bicycle WOW the St. Lawrence Acoustic Stage.

“Innovative” is the descriptor used in the program for this extraordinary performance by Parry, Hart their trusty bicycle which serves as inspiration and musical instrument throughout the program.  Amazing and inspiring are a couple of adjectives this writer wishes to add to the spectacular performance witnessed and very much enjoyed this past November 24th.

This creative piece of theatre incorporating song, storytelling that takes us from laughter to tears, costume, video, guitar, the blissful harmonies of Evalyn and Brad plus the unique, delightful percussion accompaniment on the bicycle is nothing short of a masterpiece.  The show takes us on a journey from 1894 where the one and only Annie Londonderry, the first woman to ride around the world on a bicycle, to our present day consumer culture.  It is a story and performance that speaks to the subject of liberation; how far we have come and how far we have yet to travel.  For more information about the work and performances of Evalyn Parry, please visit http://evalynparry.com/
