Merry Christmas to All of our CFN Viewers – It’s a Wonderful Life! What’s your favorite Xmas Moment?

It's a wonderful lifeCFN – I’ve always had mixed feelings about Christmas.  Being Jewish; at least culturally, it’s something I’ve always seemed to look at through a glass window.  Later in life, I shared Christmas with my wife and got into a lot of the fun of it.  The tree; the village; the moment after all the stress of putting the holiday together.

But watching what people go through; the anxiety, the panic of not finding the right gift.   The music, seemingly starting earlier and earlier each year stress people out.

For me as a kid, Christmas was always connected to curling up; usually late at night and watching It’s a Wonderful Life.   That amazing Frank Capra film that forever changed the meaning of a bell ringing.

It’s message so strong; that if you really do help your fellow man and support your community that in your darkest moment they’ll be there for you.    Family.   The strong bonds of community and friendship and their always overcoming greed and evil.

Another fave I’ve enjoyed was A Child’s Christmas in Wales with Denholm Elliot.

hollyThere are some amazing messages and lessons from Christmas movies.    My fave of course is Christmas Vacation with Chevy Chase and his family.   For me Christmas isn’t Christmas without the brilliant Randy Quaid as Cousin Eddie.

Of course Christmas is a lot more than shopping, eating, watching the big screen or little, and making mayhem.

It’s a religious holiday with significant meaning to billions of people across the world and in the times we’re living it’s a pause that can be shared with all.

CLhollySo enjoy this Christmas if you can and hopefully you’ve given something to  those who can’t.

Merry Christmas from the entire Cornwall Free News family and to each and every single viewer who make us all possible.

May your Christmas be healthy, joyous, and surrounded by all of your loved ones!
