Cornwall PoliceDOMESTIC ASSAULT WITH WEAPON, THREATS & BREACHES

           

Cornwall, ON- A 23-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on January 16th, 2013. He was bound by a Probation Order with the conditions of keep the peace and be of good behaviour. It is alleged that on January 2nd, 2013 he got into an altercation with his 24-year-old ex-girlfriend when he assaulted her with a beer bottle. The victim suffered minor injuries. It is also alleged that on January 11th, 2013, he got into an altercation with his 24-year-old girlfriend when he assaulted her, threw a shelf at her, pushed his 5-year-old son and uttered a death threat. The victim required medical treatment. Police were contacted and an investigation followed. He was charged with 3 counts of Domestic Assault, 2 counts of Assault with a Weapon, 2 counts of Breach of Probation Order and Utter Threats to cause Death. He was held in custody until court later that day. His name was not released as it would identify the victims.

 

FRAUD & UTTER FORGED DOCUMENT

           

Cornwall, ON- Ashley Villeneuve, 28 of Lancaster was arrested on January 16th, 2013. It is alleged that on November 29th, 2012 she uttered a forged document at a local financial institution. Police were contacted and an investigation followed. She was charged with Fraud under $5000 and Utter Forged Document. She was released to appear in court on February 19th, 2013.

 

FAIL TO ATTEND

           

Cornwall, ON- Edward Steptoe, 33 of Cornwall was arrested on January 16th, 2013. He was bound by an Undertaking and a Probation Order both with the conditions to keep the peace and be of good behaviour. It is alleged that on January 11th, 2013 he failed to attend for fingerprints. He was charged with Fail to Appear, Fail to Comply with Undertaking and Breach of Probation Order. He was held in custody until court the following day.

 

DOMESTIC ASSAULT & DOMESTIC ASSAULT WITH WEAPON

           

Cornwall, ON- A 22-year-olf female and a 22-year-old male were arrested on January 17th, 2013. It is alleged that on January 17th, 2013, the couple got into an altercation when they assaulted each other. It is alleged that the female was holding a knife at the time of the incident. Both suffered minor injuries. Police were contacted and an investigation followed. The female was charged with Domestic Assault with a Weapon and Weapons Dangerous. The male was charged with Domestic Assault. They were both held in custody until court later that day. The names were not released as it would identify them as victims.

 

ROBBERY

           

Cornwall, ON- The Cornwall Community Police Service is currently investigating a Robbery that occurred at shortly prior to 4:30 am on January 17th, 2013 at a local convenience store on Marlborough Street. Two suspects attended and grabbed the store employee as they removed an undisclosed amount of money, lottery tickets and cigarettes. If you have any information regarding this robbery, please contact the Service at 613-932-2110 or Crime Stoppers at 613-937-8477.

 

BREAK & ENTER

           

Cornwall, ON- The Cornwall Community Police Service is currently investigating a Break & Enter that occurred between January 15th, 2013 and January 16th, 2013 at a Louisa Street residence. The suspect(s) gained entry and removed a 32” LCD LG Television. WARRANT

 

            Cornwall, ON- Shaine Robertson, 25 of Cornwall was arrested on January 16th, 2013 under the strength of an outstanding Order of Committal warrant. It is alleged that on December 13th, 2012 his surety was revoked. He was held in custody until court later that day.

 

DOMESTIC ASSAULT & THREATS

 

            Cornwall, ON- A 34-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on January 15th, 2013. It is alleged that on January 15th, 2013 he got into an altercation with his 28-year-old wife when he assaulted her. The victim did not require medical treatment. Further investigation revealed historical assaults and threats. He was charged with 3 counts of Domestic Assault and Utter Death Threats. He was held in custody until court the following day. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in this incident.

 

ASSAULT PEACE OFFICER & BREACHES

 

            Cornwall, ON- Madelaine Godard, 64 of Brockville was arrested on January 15th, 2013. She was bound by Probation Order as well as an Undertaking with the conditions to keep the peace and be of good behaviour. It is alleged that on January 14th, 2013 while at the court house, assaulted a 24-year-old Cornwall Community Police Service Special Constable. The victim did not require medical treatment. She was charged with Assault Peace Officer, Breach of Probation Order and Fail to Comply with Undertaking. She was held in custody until court later that day.

(SD&G) – SD&G OPP would like to remind everyone that even though there is ice on area lakes and rivers and it may look good…BEWARE!

Ice on rivers and lakes may become extremely dangerous with the warm weather and rainy conditions that we have been experiencing these last few days.

NO ICE IS WITHOUT SOME RISK!
• Ice Fishing, walking, and cross country skiing, all require at least 4” of New Clear Hard Ice.(for one person)
• One snowmobile or all-terrain vehicle, both require, at least 5” of New Clear Hard Ice.(for one person)
• One vehicle, car or small pick-up, all require, at least 8” to 12” of New Clear Hard Ice.
• One vehicle, medium truck, requires, at least 12” to 15” of New Clear Hard Ice.

Always, check the ice in several places before traveling onto it. Wear a floatation suit, and carry ice picks. If you go onto the ice, expect the unexpected. Be prepared to get wet and cold and be prepared to rescue yourself. Don’t endanger anyone else. If you’re travelling in a group, keep good spacing so that if one person goes into the water the others don’t.

Ontario Provincial Police News Portal [STORMONT DUNDAS and GLENGARRY] Domestic Incident/Unwanted Person 2013-01-16

(South Glengarry) – On 15Jan13, at approximately 9:00pm, SD&G OPP officers responded to a report of a domestic incident on Airport Road, South Glengarry Township.

The investigation revealed that a female and her 31yr old boyfriend were involved in a verbal altercation that resulted in the male assaulting the female.

He was arrested and faces charges of:

– Assault
– Fail to Comply – Undertaking before Officer in Charge

He was held in custody pending an appearance in Cornwall court.
UNWANTED PERSON

(South Stormont) – On 15Jan13, at approximately 8:00am, SD&G OPP officers responded to a report of a disturbance at a residence on Strachan Ave, South Stormont Township.

The investigation revealed that a male attended a residence and did not leave when instructed to do so by the owner. Police attended and he was found to be in possession (small amount) of suspected marihuana.

The 18yr old male (Brandon JACOBS of South Stormont) was arrested and faces a charge of:

– Possession Schedule II Cannabis Marihuana

He is scheduled to appear 19Feb13 in Cornwall court.
