            Cornwall, ON- Heather Arents, 52 of Cornwall was arrested on January 29th, 2013. She was bound by a Probation Order with the conditions of keep the peace and be of good behaviour, abstain from the possession of drugs accept in accordance with medical prescription,  not to possess a cell phone unless it is in your own name and advise probation prior to acquiring. It is alleged that on January 29th, 2013 she was found in possession of a controlled substance believed to be methamphetamine. She was charged with Possession of a controlled substance, Possession of Property Obtained by Crime, Possession for the Purpose, Trafficking and 3 counts of Breach of Probation Order. She was released to appear in court on March 5th, 2013.

 

DOMESTIC BREACH

 

            Cornwall, ON- A 33-year-old South Glengarry man was arrested on January 29th, 2013. He was bound by a Peace Bond with the condition not to have any contact directly or indirectly with his 22-year-old ex-girlfriend. It is alleged that between January 24th, 2013 and January 29th, 2013, he contacted her by text messages. Police were contacted and an investigation followed. He was charged with Breach of Recognizance to Keep the Peace. He was released to appear in court on February 28th, 2013. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in this incident.

 

DOMESTIC ASSAULT

 

            Cornwall, ON- A 51-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on January 30th, 2013. It is alleged that on January 30th, 2013 he got into an altercation with his 34-year-old common-law wife when he assaulted her. The victim did not require medical treatment. Police were contacted and an investigation followed. He was charged with Domestic Assault and held in custody until court later that day. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in this incident.

 

WARRANTS

 

            Cornwall, ON- Felix Lovejoy, 48 of Cornwall was arrested on January 30th, 2013 under the strength of an outstanding warrant. It is alleged that he failed to attend court on January 29th, 2013. He was located and held in custody until court the following day.

 

Cornwall, ON – Marc Fournier, 30 of Cornwall was arrested shortly after 3:25 am on January 31, 2013.  He was bound by a Probations Order with the relevant conditions to abide by a curfew and to keep the peace and be of good behaviour.   He was charged with 2 counts of Breach of Probation.  Investigation revealed that he was wanted by the Ottawa Police Service.  He was held and turned over to the Ottawa Police Service.

 

BREACHES

 

            Cornwall, ON- Hamidah Ahmad, 24 of Cornwall was arrested on January 30th, 2013. She was bound by a Probation Oder with the conditions of keep the peace and be of good behaviour. She was also bound by a Recognizance with the conditions to abide by the rules of that residence and abstain from the consumption of alcohol absolutely. It is alleged that between January 14th, 2013 and January 30th, 2013 she failed to follow house rules. Police were contacted and an investigation followed. Upon her arrest, she was found under the influence of alcohol. She was charged with Breach Probation Order and 2 counts of Fail to comply with Recognizance. She was held in custody until court the following day.

 

THEFT OF MOTOR VEHICLE

Cornwall, ON- On January 30th, 2013 a 15 year old male from Cornwall was arrested and charged for theft of motor vehicle, and tampering with the vehicle’s identification number.  It is alleged that between December 17th and December 18th, 2012 he removed a motor vehicle from a Pitt Street business and tampered with the vehicle identification number.  Police were contacted and investigation followed.  The Young Person was released to an adult to appear in court on March 7th, 2013.  The youth’s name was not released as per provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

Ontario Provincial Police News Portal [STORMONT DUNDAS and GLENGARRY] Youth Faces Charges/Break & Enter 2013-01-29

(North Dundas) – On 28Jan13, at approximately 7:30pm, SD&G OPP officers responded to a report of a family dispute on County Road 7, North Dundas Township.

The investigation revealed that a female and a male youth were involved in a verbal altercation that resulted in the youth assaulting the female.

He was arrested and faces charges of:

– Assault
– Mischief Under $5,000
– Failure to comply with sentence or disposition
– Fail to Comply – Undertaking before Officer in Charge

He was held in custody pending an appearance in Cornwall court.

BREAK & ENTER

(South Glengarry) – On 28Jan13, at approximately 9:00am, SD&G OPP officers responded to a report of a break and enter on County Road 34, South Glengarry Township.

The investigation revealed that sometime over the weekend unknown suspect(s) attended a residence and removed a 2007 Ski Doo from the garage.

The investigation is ongoing.
