Cornwall Police Nab Child Lure Case – Police Blotter for Wednesday March 20, 2013

Cornwall PoliceSEARCH WARRANTS EXECUTED

 

            Cornwall, ON- The Cornwall Community Police Service Criminal Investigation Division assisted by the Ontario Provincial Police Crime Unit, Child Sexual Exploitation Section and the Technology Crime Unit successfully executed two search warrant simultaneously on March 20th, 2013 at 10:00 am at two South Stormont residences. As a result of the investigation, Gaetan Dinelle, 38 of South Stormont was arrested and charged with Attempting to procure a person to have illicit sexual intercourse with a another person. It is alleged that he attempted pay a person to lure a child and sexual assault the child. He was held in custody until court the following day.

ROBBERY

            Cornwall, ON- Olivier Delatour, 21 of Cornwall was arrested on March 19th, 2013. He was bound by a Recognizance with the conditions of keep the peace and be of good behaviour.  It is alleged that on March 16th, 2013 he unlawfully entered a Duncan Street residence and demanded property from a 17-year-old female and a 19-year-old male when he assaulted them. A firearm was also involved in this incident. The victims suffered minor injuries. Police were contacted and an investigation followed. He was charged with 2 counts of Assault, Disguise with intent, Fail to comply with Recognizance, Break & Enter, Firearm- use while committing offence and robbery with violence. He was held in custody until court the following day.

WARRANT

            Cornwall, ON- Mark MacDonald, 50 of Cornwall was arrested on March 19th, 2013 under the strength of an outstanding warrant. It is alleged that on September 19th, 2012 he attended a Pitt Street store and removed property without making any attempts to pay for the items. Police were contacted, an investigation followed and a warrant was issued. He was located, charged with Theft under $5000 and released to appear in court on May 7th, 2013.

BREACH

            Cornwall, ON- Christopher Watters, 54 of Cornwall was arrested on March 19th, 2013. He was bound by an Undertaking with the conditions of no contact directly or indirectly with certain people or from going within 100 meters of their place of residence and to keep the peace and be of good behaviour. It is alleged that on March 18th, 2013 he was seeing within 100 meters of their residence. Police were contacted and an investigation followed. He was charged with Fail to Comply with Undertaking and released to appear in court on April 16th, 2013.

THEFT & BREACH

Cornwall, ON- Ray Greenwood, 24 of Cornwall was arrested on March 19th, 2013. He was bound by a Probation Order and an Undertaking with the conditions to keep the peace and be of good behaviour. It is alleged that on March 15th, 2013 he attended a Marleau Avenue store and removed property without making any attempts to pay for the item. Police were contacted and an investigation followed. He was charged with Theft under $5000, Fail to Comply with Undertaking and Breach of Probation Order. He was held in custody until court the following day.

MISCHIEF

            Cornwall, ON- Daniel Ouellette, 58 of Cornwall was arrested on March 19th, 2013. It is alleged that on March 19th, 2013 shortly before 10:30 pm while at a Montreal Road restaurant he caused damaged to property. Police were contacted and an investigation followed. He was charged with Mischief under $5000 and released to appear in court on April 16th, 2013.

DOMESTIC ASSAULT & CRUELTY TO ANIMAL

            Cornwall, ON- A 28-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on March 20th, 2013. It is alleged that On March 19th, 2013, he got into an altercation with his 33-year-old girl-friend when he assaulted her and kick their 6 months old dog. The victim and the dog did not require medical treatment. Police were contacted and an investigation followed. He was charged with Domestic Assault and Cruelty to Animals. He was held in custody until court later that day.

THEFT & MISCHIEF

            Cornwall, ON- A 14-year-old Cornwall youth was arrested on March 19th, 2013. It is alleged that on March 7th, 2013 the youth removed property from his father and caused damaged to the residence. Police were contacted and an investigation followed. The youth was charged with Theft under $5000 and Mischief under $5000. The youth was released to an adult to appear in court on April 20th, 2013. The youth’s name was not released as per provision under the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

Ontario Provincial Police News Portal [STORMONT DUNDAS and GLENGARRY] Two Arrested in Break and Enter 2013-03-20

(South Stormont) – On 19Mar13, at approximately 12:30pm, SD&G OPP officers responded to a report of a break and enter on Groves Road, South Stormont Township.

The investigation revealed that a gray vehicle was involved in the theft and a description was provided to police. The vehicle and occupants were observed on Highway 401 where a traffic stop was conducted. The 39yr old female driver (Brandy ROGERSON) and her 40yr old male passenger (Luc Maurice SERRE both of South Dundas) were arrested and face charges of:

– Break, Enter a place-with intent to commit indictable offence
– Possession Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000
– Possession Break in Instruments

The female is scheduled to appear 14May13 in Cornwall court.

The male was held in custody pending an appearance in Cornwall court.

SD&G OPP have recovered various items of property that are unclaimed, please check your sheds and outbuildings and if there are any missing items contact your  local OPP detachment.

Ontario Provincial Police News Portal [STORMONT DUNDAS and GLENGARRY] Suspicious Person 2013-03-20

(North Stormont) – Members of the Ontario Provincial Police SD&G detachment responded to a report of a suspicious person near the Roxmore public school in Avonmore this afternoon.

Students reported to staff that they had observed a male dressed in black and possibly carry a weapon near the school at approximately 1:15pm today. SD&G OPP members as well as the K9 unit attended the school and checked the area.

The investigation concluded that the report was unfounded.
