  1. Rob Hickley should have been given this position…..he was next in line ….when will find out all the truth…court dates coming

  2. Hockey players with hoses. Big deal.

  3. For a while my heart jumped thinking that Bare Ass had his son (the hockey player) promoted to fire chief. You never know what comes out of Bare Ass.

  4. Gee, does this tell us who played along with His Worship on hiring the un-employed son?

  5. You bet your ass Bob Kilger picked McCullough, do you honestly think he could offer it to Rob Hickley knowing he has bare ass by the nuts over the hiring of his son? McCullough, in a true coward fashion, you stepped right in, yep a proven true coward you really are.

  6. Rob Hickley for Mayor !!!

  7. Wondering if the job was posted and was there a competition?? Hasn’t he been wearing those strips now for a while??
Wasn’t he once a big UNION GUY??

  8. Goodness me, Mr. Levac. I cannot believe that you, of all people, have slipped into the Kilger cult. Not you, really? Rick McCullough?? Unqualified, no credentials, only known as Fitzpatrick’s boot-licking “super snitch.” He is what he is. There are adjectives like stupid and lame that just don’t seem to cover this Excluding Mr. Hickley, who was definitely the fully qualified Fire Chief, there was at least one other applicant who had all of the requirements for the job, except one. (McCullough had NONE!) AND that individual didn’t even get an interview. The true point is that Mr.Hickley’s court case is next Tuesday, July 16,2013, 10:00 am. Some silly lawyer must have advised Council and Admin. to exclude Mr. Hickley and name McCullough as Fire Chief at this very moment just in an attempt to break Mr. Hickley before his court date. And you Mr. Levac allowed yourself to be part of this? My, My, My–when did you give up your ethics and switch to the other side. Mr. Hickley, stand strong. You probably saw this coming but I am sure it still hurts.

SoThick I saw an ad for the position once in an Ottawa newspaper. The Kilger council apparently isn’t big on “Buy Local” as they when not giving out contracts to conflicted companies they like to give out tenders and rfp’s to outside firms.

  10. Did it ever cross your mind, that Hickley may have not wanted the position with everything that is going on in his life right now?

How quick we are to assume and accuse when we were not part of the hiring process.

  11. Stella I guess we will find out who was part of the hiring process (as you stated) when Chad Kilger got hired…As for Rob wanting the job…absolutely…he deserved it but the city changed the whole system to accommodate their choice…Hoping the judge will make all of this public and then we will see the conflict of interest.

  12. Rob should have gotten this job as he is more qualified, shame on Rick for accepting a position that he is not able to do as well as Rob,now I know who the brown nose snitch is,seems to happen to all kilger slaves

  13. So Thick being that I was a former federal government employee I can tell you first hand that competitions mean “squat” and are completely rigged. Employers have people picked out ahead of time and they post competitions to look fair which they are not.

Posting in the Ottawa newspapers for a fire chief and not even mentioned in “the toilet paper of record – SF” is mighty strange indeed. It is all complete corruption to the core. If you all look on Yahoo’s news it mentions about corruption worldwide and that is all there is today. Bare Ass happens to be incompetent to the core as well as mighty corrupted. Bare Ass has to go long before an election. I am looking forward to the court date of July 15 – WOW! only 5 days more.

Best of luck Mr. Hickley on your court date and I will be rooting for you here in Ottawa. Take care and don’t be nervous or let it get to your health.

  14. Richard McCullough is a good guy, Cornwall born as well, I like the decision,

  15. Rob Hickley is a great guy…Cornwall born as well….much more qualified….dislike the decision

  16. When you vote for the same jack asses in year after year they get so mighty corrupted. When people smell money under their noses they hop at anything and they get in a clique. They are in a big club and you and I “ain’t” in the big club as one of my favorite comedians once said. The same big club that beats you over the head each day. RIP George Carlin you told the people the truth and it is up to them to wake up to the truth.

There is no freedom when you put such people in power and they abuse that power and it isn’t democracy. It is only good for them and not for the rest. It is all up to you who you put in. Someone spoke about what former mayor Phil Poirier did and yes they rip from the till and make all of us pay for it. It is about time that people really wake up and see what is going on. Stop voting for the same jackasses and vote for more honest people. If you don’t put Bare Ass out now you will suffer the consequences. I am looking forward to the trial coming up and wish Mr. Hickley the very best. Mr. Hickley deserves the job as fire chief but he wants to retire according to what he said. I hope that Mr. Hickley keeps his health intact and remains very strong. You have to be strong to stand up to such bullies and it is about time that Fossoli kicks them all out once and for all.
