DOMESTIC THREATS, HARASSMENT

 

Cornwall, ON – A 35 –year-old Cornwall man was arrested on the 20^th of August, 2013 and charged with:

• ·         Threats to property
• ·         Three counts of Threats to Person
• ·         Criminal Harassment for having repeated contact
• ·         Criminal Harassment for engaging in a threatening conduct

It is alleged that in the 19^th of August, 2013 the man repeatedly attempted to contact his 36-year-old ex-girlfriend and left several threatening messages. Police were made aware of the messages and an investigation ensued. During their investigation they attended the court house as the man was in custody on another matter and advised him of the charges. The man then held for a bail hearing. His name was not released as it might identify the victim in this matter.

 

DOMESTIC ASSAULT

 

                Cornwall, ON – A 45-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on the 20^th of August, 2013 and charged with Assault. It is alleged that in the early morning hours of the 20^th of August, 2013 the man was involved in an argument with his 43-year-old girlfriend and at a certain point grabbed her by the arms and pushed her. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. During their investigation the man was taken into custody and charged accordingly. He was taken to police headquarters where he was later released with a future court date. His name was not released as it might identify the victim in this matter.

 

MISCHIEF

 

                Cornwall, ON – A 25-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on the 20^th of August, 2013 and charged with Mischief Under $5000. It is alleged that on the 20^th of August, 2013 the man who shares a porch with a neighbour damaged the dividing porch wall with a hammer. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. During their investigation they located the man at his residence, took him into custody and charged him accordingly. He was transported to police headquarters and later released with a court date of the24th of September. 2013. His name was not released as it might identify the victim in the matter.

 

ASSAULT WITH A WEAPON, POSSESSION OF WEAPON FOR DANGEROUS PURPOSE

 

                Cornwall, ON – a 16-year-old Cornwall youth was arrested on the 20^th of August, 2013 and charged with Assault with a Weapon and  Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous purpose. It is alleged that on the 20^th of August, 2013 the youth was involved in a verbal argument with her mother at which point the youth took a knife and made a gesture towards her. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. During their investigation the youth was taken into custody and charged accordingly. The youth was transported to police headquarters and later released with a court date of the 19^th of September, 2013. The youths’ name was not released as per provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

 

ASSAULT CAUSE BODILY HARM AND BREACH OF PROBATION

 

                Cornwall, ON – Jamie Garlow, 21 of Cornwall was arrested on the 20^th of August, 2013 and charged with Assault Cause Bodily Harm and breach of Probation for failing to keep the peace. It is alleged that on the 11^th of August, 2013 the man was seen going through yards in the area of Sixth Street west. When confronted by a 52-year-old man he punched the man in the eye causing him to seek medical attention. He then left the area and Police were contacted. On the 20^th of August, 2013 the man attended police headquarters to deal with the matter. He was taken into custody and charged accordingly. He was then released with a court date of the 24^th of September, 2013.

 

WARRANTS

 

                Cornwall, ON – Meagan Monique, 23 of Cornwall was arrested on the 20^th of August, 2013 on the strength of three warrants. On the 20^th of August, 2013 the woman attended police headquarters to turn herself in. As a result she was taken into custody and later released with a court date of the 26^th of September, 2013.

 

WARRANTS, PERSONATION

Cornwall, ON -Edward Steptoe, 33 of Cornwall was arrested on the 20^th of August, 2013 on the strength of five outstanding Warrants as follows:

·         Fail to attend court

·         Theft Under and breach of Probation

·         Breach of Probation

·         Fail to appear for fingerprints, breach of Undertaking and breach of Probation

·         Breach of undertaking and breach of Probation

·         Theft Under and breach of Probation

On the 20^th of August, 2013 the man was located at a gulf Street residence and agreed to accompany police to deal with the matter. He was taken into custody, transported to police head quarters and held for a bail hearing.

Cornwall, ON – A 35-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on the 20^th of August, 2013 on the strength of a Domestic Warrant, charged with Personation and Obstruct Police. It is alleged that in the early morning hours of the 20^th of August, 2013 the man was spotted by a member of Cornwall Community Police on routine patrol running into a back yard. The man was subsequently stopped by police and identified himself with a false name. The man was taken into custody and charged accordingly. He was then transported to police headquarters and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released as it might identify the victim in the domestic related matter.
