Cornwall, ON- The Cornwall Community Police Service have received reports of several attempt of having persons contact a specific web site to have restrictions removed from their accounts. It is reported that residences are receiving a text message and that a correspondence is required to lift restrictions imposed on an account. Cornwall police are warning people of the possible scam and advise the public to take caution if targeted.

 

The Cornwall Community Police Service wishes to remind residences never give out any personal information over the telephone or by way of text without researching and confirming who you are corresponding with.

WARRANT

 

            Cornwall, ON – Emilie Labelle, 20 of Cornwall was arrested on the 9th of October, 2013 on the strength of a Warrant. It is alleged that on the 8th of October, 2013 the woman failed to attend court as required and a warrant was issued for her arrest. On the 9th of October the woman attended police headquarters to deal with the matter. She was taken into custody and later released with a future court date.

 

Cornwall, ON – Amber Boudrias-Bariteau, 20 of Cornwall was arrested on the 9th of October, 2013 on the strength of a warrant. It is alleged that on the 2nd of July, 2013 the woman failed to attend court and a warrant was issued for her arrest. On the 9th of October, 2013 the woman attended police headquarters to deal with the matter. She was taken into custody and later released with a future court date.

 

BREACHES

 

            Cornwall, ON – Laura Primeau, 26 of Cornwall was arrested on the 9th of October, 2013, charged with breach of a Recognizance for having failed to attend for prints and breach of probation for failing to keep the peace. It is alleged that on the 27th of August, 2013 the woman failed to attend police headquarters for her scheduled appointment and on the 9th of October, 2013 attended the station to deal with the matter. The woman was taken into custody, charged accordingly and later released with a future court date.

 

Cornwall, ON – Carl Beckstead, 62 of Cornwall was arrested on the 9th of October, 2013 and charged with breaching his Undertaking for having consumed alcohol and failing to keep the peace. It is alleged that in the early morning hours of the 10th of October, 2013 the man was spotted walking on McConnell Avenue while under the influence of alcohol. The man was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.

 

ASSAULT POLICE

 

            Cornwall, ON – Cory Sabourin, 35 of Cornwall was arrested on the 9th of October, 2013 and charged with Assault Police. It is alleged that on the 9th of October, 2013 police attended a Daily Street address in relation to a disturbance and while police were investigating the incident the man threw a hand full of dirt striking a police officer. The man was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.

ASSAULT WITH A WEAPON, THREATS

 

Cornwall, ON – A 62-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on the 8th of October, 2013 and charged with two counts of Assault with a Weapon and two counts of Threats. It is alleged that on the 7th and 8th of October, 2013 while pointing a knife the man threatened to stab his 61-year-old wife and his daughter. Police attended the residence and an investigation ensued. During their investigation the man was taken into custody and charged accordingly. He was then transported to police headquarters and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released as it might identify the victims in the matter.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Tuesday, October 8, 2013 9:00 pm

(Ottawa) — The Ottawa Police Service Sexual Assault/Child Abuse Section is investigating a sexual assault that occurred in the South end of Ottawa on October 7, 2013.

On October 7th at approximately 9:40 pm, a 25-year-old female was walking from the Heron Transitway Station to Aldea Avenue near the intersection of Lasalle Street when a male grabbed her from behind, dragged her into nearby bushes and sexually assaulted her. The suspect fled and the victim was able to seek assistance from two males who were close by. The victim was treated at a local hospital for her injuries and released.

The suspect is described as a light skinned male with short dark hair, medium to athletic build, approximately 6 feet (183cm). He was wearing a dark-coloured sweatshirt and jeans.
