Cornwall, ON – Kelly Lalonde, age 39, of Cornwall, was arrested on November 1, 2013.  He is bound by two Probation Orders with the relevant condition to keep the peace and be of good behaviour.  As a result of a police investigation into a break and enter which occurred on October 2, 2013 in downtown Cornwall, a warrant was issued for the arrest of Kelly Lalonde.  He was located at a downtown Cornwall residence.  He was charged with Break, Enter and Commit Theft and two counts of Breach of Probation.  He was held for a Bail Hearing on November 4, 2013.

DOMESTICS

 

Cornwall, ON – A 26 year old Cornwall man was arrested on November 1, 2013.  It is alleged that on September 30, 2013, he was under the influence of alcohol at his residence with his 19 year old girlfriend.  He became jealous with her.  They had a verbal argument.  He threatened to kill her, intimidated her with a knife, assaulted her by pushing and grabbing her, and squeezing her neck.  Then assaulted her with a knife by running it along  the front of her body telling her what he could do to her.  On October 31, 2013, police were contacted and an investigation was conducted.  The man was charged with Assault, Assault with a Weapon, Possession of a Prohibited Weapon, Intimidation and Utter Death Threats.  The victim did not suffer any injuries.  The male was held for a Bail Hearing on November 4, 2013.  His name is not being released in order to protect the identity of the victim.

 

Cornwall, ON – A 27 year old Cornwall man was arrested on November 2, 2013.  He is bound by an Undertaking Order with the relevant conditions to abstain from alcohol, not communicate with his estranged girlfriend nor attend at her residence, and keep the peace and be of good behaviour.  It is alleged that on November 2, 2013, he attended her residence upon being invited.  He was under the influence of alcohol.  He engaged in a verbal argument with her which escalated into him pushing her and pulling her hair.  He then began to break various items throughout her residence in a rage during which he threatened to kill her.  Police were contacted and an investigation was conducted.  The male was charged with four counts of Breach of Undertaking, Assault, Utter Death Threats and Mischief Under $5000.  The victim did not suffer any injuries.  The estimated value of the damage is over $3500.  The male was held for a Bail Hearing on November 4, 2013.  His name is not being released in order to protect the identity of the victim.

IMPAIRED

 

Cornwall, ON – Heather Thompson, age 39, of Akwesasne was arrested on November 3, 2013.  She was found operating a motor vehicle at the Canada Border Services Agency on Brookdale Avenue while under the influence of alcohol.  Police were contacted and an investigation was conducted.  She was charged with Impaired and Refuse to Provide Breath Sample.  She was released to appear in court on November 12, 2013.

OBSTRUCT POLICE

 

Cornwall, ON – Cory Arial, age 24, was arrested on November 3, 2013.  It is alleged that he attended the scene of an investigation being conducted by police.  He was not involved in the case.  He was being loud and belligerent, interrupting and impeding police in the course of their duties.  He was asked to leave the scene several times.  He refused to do so and continued to disturb and demean police.  He did so posturing in an aggressive manner.  He was charged with Obstruct Police and Resist Police.  He was released to appear in court on December 3, 2013.

BAIL VIOLATIONS

(North Glengarry) – On November 01, 2013 at approximately 1:45pm, SD&G OPP officers responded to a report of a domestic situation at a property on Lochiel Street East in the Town of Alexandria, North Glengarry Township. Investigation revealed a verbal altercation had taken place between a male and female. Further information indicated that both were on current conditions of non-association.

The 30 year old female from North Glengarry was arrested and is charged with;

– Fail to Comply with Recognizance (2 counts)

She was released and scheduled to appear in Alexandria court on November 19, 2013

The 28 year old male was arrested and is charged with;

– Fail to Comply with Recognizance (4 counts)
– Fail to Comply with Probation order

He was held in custody pending a court appearance (bail) in Cornwall this date (04Nov13)
(North Dundas) – On November 03, 2013 at approximately 1:30am, SD&G OPP officers responded to thefts from several vehicles in the Hallville area in North Dundas Township. Investigation revealed that 11 different properties were attended and a variety of items were taken from vehicles. All involved property has been recovered (cash, electronics, personal items).

Steven GATER (23) of North Grenville was arrested and is charged with;

– Theft (6 counts)

He was held in custody pending a court appearance (bail) in Cornwall this date (04Nov13)

Charges are also pending on another male (29) from North Grenville, including 11 counts of Trespass by Night and 6 counts of Theft.
(South Dundas) – On November 03, 2013 at approximately 11:00am, an SD&G OPP officer on patrol observed a male party known to be in contravention of conditions set from previous incidents (not to be within a specific distance of noted properties).

The 45 year old male, from South Dundas was arrested and is charged with;

– Fail to Comply with Recognizance (3 counts)
– Intimidation

He was held in custody pending a court appearance (bail) in Cornwall this date (04Nov13).

 

DRUGS SEIZED

(North Dundas) – On November 01, 2013 at approximately 9:45pm, SD&G OPP officers were conducting a Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere (RIDE) checkstop on Main Street in the Village of Chesterville. A check of a vehicle resulted in the seizure of a small amount of suspected marihuana from inside the vehicle.

The driver, Justin BLAIR (25) of Russell Township was arrested and is charged with;

– Possession of a Controlled Substance

He was released to appear in Morrisburg court on December 03, 2013.

 

IMPAIRED DRIVER

(North Glengarry) – On November 02, 2013 at approximately 12:30am, SD&G OPP officers had the occasion to stop a vehicle for a traffic violation on MacDonald Boulevard in the Town of Alexandria, North Glengarry Township. The stop indicated that the male driver was under the influence of alcohol.

John BISSONNETTE (41) of North Glengarry was arrested and is charged with;

– Driving While Ability Impaired
– Fail to Provide Sample

He was released and scheduled to appear in Alexandria court on December 04, 2013.

 

DOMESTIC INCIDENT

(South Dundas) – On November 03, 2013 at approximately 1:30pm, SD&G OPP officers responded to a report of a domestic situation at a residence on Island Park Drive in the Village of Iroquois, South Dundas Township. Investigation revealed an altercation between a male and his common-law spouse resulted in the female being threatened. Further information indicated she had been assaulted the previous week.

The 25 year old male was arrested and is charged with;

– Utter Threats
– Assault

He was released and scheduled to appear in Cornwall court on November 19, 2013.

 

THEFTS

(North Dundas) – On November 01, 2013 at approximately 8:00am, SD&G OPP responded to a report of a theft of an excavator from a worksite on County road 31 at Liscumb Road. Overnight (31Oct-01Nov13), the unit was removed. It is described as a Kubota “mini” excavator, orange with full-sized shovel and bucket with an enclosed cab. The value of the unit is approximately $50,000.00.
(South Dundas) – Overnight (02-03Nov13) a boat motor was stolen from a property on Carman Road, South Dundas Township. The item is described as a 2002 Honda 9.9HP motor, valued a t approximately $1500.00.
WIND RELATED CALLS FOR SERVICE

(SD&G) – The high winds present in the area on November 01, 2013 resulted in SD&G OPP officers responding to a total of 19 (Stormont-5, Dundas-5, Glengarry-9) related calls for service including downed wires, alarms and debris on roadways. Fortunately, no injuries resulted.
