Cornwall PoliceCRIMINAL HARASSMENT, THREATS

 

Cornwall, ON – A 23-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on December 9th, 2013 and charged with criminal harassment and threats to life. It is alleged that for the last two months the man continually called his 22-year-old ex-common law wife despite having been told not to and during one of the calls the man threatened to kill her. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On December 9th, 2013 the man attended police headquarters to deal with the matter. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released as it might identify the victim in the matter.

 

WARRANT

 

            Cornwall, ON – Ann Andrews, 36 of Cornwall was arrested on December 9th, 2013 on the strength of a witness warrant. On December 9th, 2013 police located the woman at her residence, took her into custody on the strength of the warrant and transported her to police headquarters where she was held for a bail hearing.

 

BREACHES

 

            Cornwall, ON – Johnathon Beauvais, 20 of Cornwall was arrested on December 9th, 2013 and charged with breaching his undertaking for not carrying his documents, failing to keep the peace and not notifying a change of address. It is alleged that on December 9th, 2013 police were called to attend 1 Water Street for a disturbance. Once on scene it was learned that the man gave security a difficult time and police were contacted. The man failed to surrender his release documents and investigation revealed he did not notify a change of address. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly, transported to police headquarters and held for a bail hearing.

THEFT

 

            Cornwall, ON – A 17-year-old Maxville youth was arrested on December 6th, 2013 and charged with theft under $5000. It is alleged that the youth removed four pairs of gloves and spray paint from a store on Marleau Avenue where he was completing his co-op placement. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On December 6th, 2013 during their investigation the youth attended police headquarters to deal with the matter. He was arrested, charged accordingly and released with a court date of January 16th, 2014. His name was not released as per provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

 

ROBBERY, POSSESSION OF A CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE

 

            Cornwall, ON – Philip Jodoin, 37 of Cornwall was arrested on December 6th, 2013 and charged with robbery, possession of a controlled substance, breach of undertaking for failing to keep the peace and for having consumed drugs. It is alleged that on December 6th, 2013 the man attended a local pharmacy and demanded Fentanyl patches all the while indicating he had a knife. The man then left with an undisclosed quantity of the Fentanyl patches. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. During their investigation police located the man at a Vincent Massey Drive motel and found that he was in possession of cocaine and that he had been consuming drugs. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly then held for a bail hearing.

 

BREAK AND ENTER, ASSAULT

 

            Cornwall, ON – A 33-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on December 6th, 2013 and charged with break and enter and assault. It is alleged that on December 6th, 2013 the man attended his 31-year-old ex-girlfriend’s residence and damaged the door to gain entry into her apartment. Once inside the couple were involved in an argument and during the argument the man punched the woman in the head and spat in her face. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. During their investigation they located the man at a St-Felix Street address, took him into custody and charged him accordingly. The man was to attend a bail hearing.

 

BREACHES

 

            Cornwall, ON – Cassandra Garreau, 24 of Cornwall was arrested on December 7th, 2013 and charged with breaching a recognizance for having communicated with someone she was not supposed to. It is alleged that on November 19th, 2013 the woman was spotted in the company of a woman with who she has conditions to not communicate with. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On December 7th, 2013 while conducting bar checks police spotted the woman at a local bar and found that she was now breaching her recognizance for communicating with a different woman with who she has conditions not to, for being away from her residence, consuming alcohol and for being in contact with someone known to have a criminal record. The woman was taken into custody and charged accordingly. She was transported to police headquarters and held for a bail hearing.

 

            Cornwall, ON – Janay Niles, 20 of Cornwall was arrested on December 7th, 2013 and charged with breaching her recognizance for being out past curfew, being at a specific bar and associating with someone she has conditions not to. It is alleged that on December 7th, 2013 during a bar check police spotted the woman who is bound by conditions of not to be at that specific bar. The woman was also breaching her conditions by being out past curfew and associating with someone she was not to. She was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.

 

Cornwall, ON – Kelly Allen, 50 of Cornwall was arrested on December 7th, 2013 and charged with breaching a recognizance and a probation order for having consumed alcohol and failing to keep the peace. It is alleged that on December 7th, 2013 police attended a Montreal Street address in relation to a disturbance. On arrival it was learned that the intoxicated man who was causing the disturbance left prior to police arrival. The man was located by police at a St-Felix Street address, taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.

 

ASSAULT

 

            Cornwall, ON – A 37-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on December 7th, 2013 and charged with assault. It is alleged that on December 5th, 2013 the man was involved in an argument with his 36-year-old common law wife when he pushed her. On December 7th, 2013 police were contacted and an investigation ensued. During their investigation the man was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.

 

ASSAULT, THREATS, ASSAULT WITH A WEAPON, POSSESSION OF A WEAPON, MISCHIEF

 

Cornwall, ON – A 17-year-old Cornwall youth was arrested on December 7th, 2013 and charged with the following:

  • Mischief under  $5000
  • Threats to life
  • Threats to harm an animal
  • Assault
  • Assault with a weapon
  • Possession of a weapon
  • Threats to cause damage

It is alleged that on December 7th, 2013 the intoxicated youth was involved in a verbal argument with his 18-year-old girlfriend when he grabbed a knife, kicked in the bathroom door and threatened to stab her and kill his mother if she was to show up. The man then threatened to harm his girlfriend’s cat with the knife and as she was leaving the residence he was pushed her. Shortly after leaving the woman received a call from the youth stating he was going to burn down the house. Police were called and an investigation ensued. During their investigation the youth was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released as per provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

Ontario Provincial Police News Portal [STORMONT DUNDAS and GLENGARRY] Male Arrested / Recovered Stolen Vehicle / Impaired Driver / Racing Law Infraction 2013-12-09

(South Glengarry) – On 07Dec13, at approximately 2:30am, SD&G OPP officers responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle on County Road 27, South Glengarry Township.

The vehicle was located parked on the shoulder of the road with a 24yr old male in the driver’s seat.
The investigation revealed that the male (Michael BELAIR of North Glengarry) was in possession (small amount) of suspected marihuana.

He was arrested and faces a charge of:

– Possession Schedule II Cannabis Marihuana

He is scheduled to appear 08Jan14 in Alexandria court.
RECOVERED STOLEN VEHCILE

(South Dundas) – On 08Dec13, at approximately 11:30am, SD&G OPP officers had occasion to conduct a traffic stop on County Road 16, South Dundas Township.

The stop resulted in the recovery of a vehicle that was reported stolen from the Kingston area.

The 23yr old male driver (Alexander BOYER of South Dundas) was arrested and faces a charge of:

– Possession Property Obtained by Crime Over $5,000

He is scheduled to appear 07Jan14 in Morrisburg court.
IMPAIRED DRIVER

(North Glengarry) – On 07Dec13, at approximately 2:00pm, SD&G OPP officers responded to a report of an erratic driver on County Road 34, North Glengarry Township.

The vehicle was located and a traffic stop was conducted. The 53yr old male driver (Mark CARRIERE of North Glengarry) was found to be operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol.

He was arrested and faces charges of:

– Driving While Ability Impaired
– Driving with More than 80 milligrams of Alcohol in Blood

He is scheduled to appear 05Feb14 in Alexandria court.
RACING LAW INFRACTION

– 08Dec2013 (11:45pm), SD&G OPP officer stops a westbound Subaru on County Road 24, North Glengarry….138km/h (posted 80km/h zone).
