12 Year Old Assault With Weapon in Cornwall Ontario – Police Blotter for Monday Dec 30 OPP TPS

Cornwall, ON – Cory Sabourin, 35 of Cornwall was arrested on December 27th, 2013 and charged with theft under $5000 and  breach of an undertaking for being at a specific store despite being on conditions not to and failing to keep the peace. It is alleged that on December 27th, 2013 the man attended a Vincent Massey store and removed some CDs and DVDs without making any attempts to pay for the items. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. During their investigation the man who was still in the area was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.

 

BREACH

 

Cornwall, ON – Carl Beckstead, 62 of Cornwall was arrested on December 27th, 2013 and charged with breaching his recognizance for having consumed alcohol outside his residence. It is alleged that on December 27th, 2013 police attended the area of Montreal Road and Prince Arthur Street in relation to a suspicious person. On arrival they located the intoxicated man, took him into custody and charged him accordingly. He was then held for a bail hearing.

 

Cornwall, ON – A 19-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on December 28th, 2013 and charged with breaching his youth probation order for being out past curfew, associating with someone known to have a criminal record and failing to keep the peace. It is alleged that on December 28th, 2013 at approximately 10pm the man was spotted walking in the area of McConnell Avenue and Walton Street by an officer on patrol. The man who was accompanied by a person known to have a criminal record was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released as the probation order stems from incidents when the man was a youth.

 

Cornwall, On Amanda Piotrowski, 21 of Cornwall was arrested on December 29th, 2013 and charged with breaching an undertaking for having consumed alcohol and failing to keep the peace. It is alleged that in the early morning hours of December 29th, 2013 the woman was spotted by police in the area of Montreal Road. Upon speaking with the woman police detected an odour of alcohol from her breath and took her into custody for the breach. She was charged accordingly and later released with a court date of February 6th, 2014.

 

ASSAULT

Cornwall, ON – A 58-year-old Cornwall woman was arrested on December 28th, 2013 and charged with assault. It is alleged that on December 28th, 2013 the woman was involved in an argument with a 44-year-old woman when she struck the 44-year-old in the jaw. Police were contacted to attend the Twelfth Street address and an investigation ensued. During their investigation the woman was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. Her name was not released as it might identify the victim in the matter.

 

ASSAULT WITH A WEAPON, THREATS, WEAPONS DANGEROUS, POINTING A FIREARM

 

Cornwall, ON – a 12-year-old Cornwall youth was arrested on December 28th, 2013 and charged with assault with a weapon, threats, weapons dangerous and pointing a firearm. It is alleged that at approximately 10pm on December 28th, 2013 the youth was asked to leave a Brookdale Avenue restaurant at which time he pointed a pistol BB gun at a staff member and threatened to shoot him. Police were contacted and located the youth a short distance away. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and later released to appear in court at a later date. His name was not released as per provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

 

PERSONATION, OBSTRUCT POLICE

 

Cornwall, ON – Sasha Knox, 25 of Long Sault was arrested on December 29th, 2013 and charged with personation and obstruct police. It is alleged that on December 29th, 2013 the woman was stopped by police for a traffic violation at which time she falsely identified herself as someone else. She was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released with a court date of January 20th, 2014.

 

CRIMINAL HARASSMENT

 

Cornwall, ON – A 28-year-old Long Sault man was arrested on December 29th, 2013 and charged with criminal harassment. It is alleged that during the month of December, 2013 the man continually contacted his 28-year-old ex-girlfriend from Cornwall despite having been warned not to. On December 29th, 2013 the man was arrested and charged accordingly. He was later released with a court date of January 7th, 2014. His name was not released as it might identify the victim in the matter.

The Toronto Police Service is seeking the public’s assistance in a shooting investigation.

It is reported that:

– on Sunday, December 29, 2013, at approximately 7:30 p.m., a man was sitting in his car in the Tobermory Drive/Finch Avenue area

– he was approached by two or more suspects

– an altercation took place and the victim was shot

– the man taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries

– the suspects fled in a dark-coloured vehicle

Public assistance sought in Assault Causing Bodily Harm investigation

The Toronto Police Service is seeking the public’s assistance with an Assault Causing Bodily Harm investigation.

It is reported that:

– on Saturday, December 28, 2013, at approximately 12:15 a.m., a man was stabbed outside a bar in the King Street West/Brant Street area

– the man was stabbed by another man who was among a group of seven men who were also patrons of the bar

The suspect is described as white, 25-27, 6′-6’3″, 215 lbs., with a bald head, and wearing a grey track suit with red trim.

(South Glengarry) – On 28Dec13, at approximately 8:00pm, SD&G OPP officers responded to a report of a domestic incident on County Road 25, South Glengarry Township.

The investigation revealed that a male and his 19yr old girlfriend were involved in a verbal altercation that resulted in the female assaulting the male.

She was arrested and faces charges of:

– Assault – Spousal
– Mischief Under $5,000
– Failure to comply with disposition
– Fail to Comply with probation Order

She is scheduled to appear 21Jan14 in Cornwall court.
(South Dundas) – On 30Dec13, at approximately 12:15am, SD&G OPP officers responded to a report of a domestic incident on Strader Road, South Dundas Township.

The investigation revealed that a female and her 41yr old common-law spouse were involved in a verbal altercation that resulted in the male assaulting the female.

He was arrested and faces charges of:

– Assault – Spousal
– Fail to Comply with Probation Order

He is scheduled to appear 21Jan14 in Cornwall court.
