Cornwall River Kings Win! Kids Get in Free If Wearing Jersey! Sunday Matinee at The Civic Complex – January 12, 2014

cornwall river kings bear tossCornwall Ontario – The River Kings losing skid came to an abrupt end on Friday night in Sorel-Tracy.

Cornwall picked up two points on the road with an important 6-3 win against the Eperviers.

The River Kings are back in action on Sunday afternoon when they host Saint-Georges at the Civic Complex.

On Friday, in another wild matchup with Sorel, Bobby Mazerolle led the Kings attack with 2 goals and 2 assists. Cornwall’s leading scorer Nicolas Corbeil chipped in with a goal and 2 helpers in the victory.

The River Kings trailed 3-2 after the opening frame but never looked back, scoring four unanswered goals in the second and third.

Sasha Pokulok, Pierre-Luc Faubert and Julien Corriveau also scored for the River Kings, who improved to 9-12-4. Loic Lacasse earned the victory in goal with a 28-save performance.

Bulking defenceman Simon Desormeaux officially returned to the LNAH on Friday night, making his River Kings debut.

On Sunday afternoon, as usual, any children wearing their minor hockey jersey will be admitted to the game free of charge – if accompanied by an adult. The puck drops at 2:30 p.m. at the Civic Complex.
