Cornwall, ON – Kim Masson, 54 of Williamstown was arrested on April 15th, 2014 and charged with threats. It is alleged that during the month of April, 2014 the man threatened to shoot a member of the Cornwall Community Police Service. As a result of the alleged threat an investigation ensued. On April 15th, 2014 during the course of the investigation the man was taken into custody at his residence by members of the OPP and turned over to the Cornwall Community Police. He was charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.

 

ASSAULT, BREACH

 

Cornwall, ON – A 49-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on April 15th, 2014 and charged with assault and breach of probation for failing to keep the peace and being in the company of someone specific while under the influence of alcohol. It is alleged that on April 15th, 2014 the man who had been drinking was involved in a verbal argument his 45-year-old girlfriend when he punched her in the head. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. During their investigation the man who was still in the area was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released as it might identify the victim in the matter.

 

Cornwall, ON- A 16-year-old Cornwall youth was arrested on April 15th, 2014 and charged with assault and breach of probation and an undertaking for failing to keep the peace. It is alleged that on April 15th, 2014 the youth grabbed his foster brother by the collar and threw him to the ground. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. During their investigation the youth was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released as per provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

PUBLIC AWARENESS

 

Cornwall, ON – The Cornwall Community Police Service would like to advise the public that they have noticed a rise in the number of business compound thefts recently. Thieves are attending business compounds after hours (generally between 6:00pm and 6:00am) and remove various metals. The persons responsible for these thefts are also causing damage to fences and buildings in order to gain access. If you believe you are witnessing a crime in progress please dial 911 to report it.

BREAK AND ENTER WITH VIOLENCE REMAINS UNSOLVED

(Lancaster, ON) – On April 25, 2012 at approximately 7:00am, members of the SDG detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a break and enter with violence at a home on Diversion Road in South Glengarry Township. This crime has not been solved.

The investigation has determined that an armed, masked male broke into the residence and assaulted the adult female victim.  The suspect stole items from the house before fleeing in the home owner’s vehicle.

Officers responding to the call located the vehicle a short distance away with no one inside.

The victim was taken to hospital for treatment of her injuries.

The SDG Crime Unit is continuing their investigation under the direction of Detective Inspector Dan Nadeau, Criminal Investigation Branch.
