Michael B Dalton of Kingston Charged with Grow Op After Sign Tampering Investigation in Kingston KPS

 

kingston police logoCFN – Some creative editing of provincial election signs by a local man has concluded with Kingston Police locating and seizing a grow operation in his own residence.

 

On Wednesday, June 4th at approximately 8:00 a.m. a Uniform Patrol Constable observed 35-year-old Michael B. DALTON defacing the election signs of three candidates in the area of Division St and Joseph St. After taking liberties with the addition of facial characteristics to photos using a marker, the accused was approached and detained by police at Division St and Railway St, where he had continued his vandalism to further signs.

 

During his arrest and processing Kingston Police received information that caused them concern for the well-being of a related party in the accused’s Joseph St apartment. Officers attended to check on the welfare of this other individual, and once they gained entry observed what appeared to be a marihuana grow operation.

 

The uniformed officers secured the apartment and notified the Kingston Police Street Crime Unit of their discovery. A CDSA (Controlled Drugs and Substances Act) warrant was obtained and upon re-entry over 30 marihuana plants and grow paraphernalia were seized.

 

The accused has been charged with Mischief under $5,000, Possession of Marihuana for the Purpose of Trafficking, Unlawfully Produce Marihuana, and Breach of Undertaking. He attended a bail hearing on June 5th and was remanded into custody awaiting a future court date.

The particular candidates whose signs were defaced, they were Sophie Kiwala, Mary Rita Holland and Mark Bain
