Seaway International Bridge Closed from 11 PM Tuesday June 17 to 5 AM Wednesday June 18, 2014

Old bridge going up.  One of the pillars will remain.

CORNWALL Ontario – Paving work will see a closure of the new North section of the Seaway International Bridge overnight Tuesday June 17th starting at 11 PM.

The border crossing is scheduled to re open Wednesday at 5 AM.   AECON Construction will be paving several sections near the toll booths and the approaches to Canada Customs.

 CLOSURES AT SEAWAY BRIDGE
NORTH CHANNEL BRIDGE (BOTH DIRECTIONS)
(Bridge linking Cornwall to Cornwall Island)
AND SOUTH CHANNEL BRIDGE (NORTHBOUND ONLY)
(Bridge linking Cornwall Island to Rooseveltown)

FOR MAINTENANCE FOR 6 HOURS ON THE FOLLOWING NIGHT:
FROM 11:00PM ON TUESDAY, JUNE 17, 2014
UNTIL 5:00AM WEDNESDAY, JUNE 18, 2014

In the event of rain, the closure will be the next available night.

  1. strange, wonder where they got the substrait? think its leftovers from a road in quebec? like the concrete in the sears mall? will the city never learn? but i suppose when you put it down in freezing weather its like laying shingles on a roof in the cold. nothing sticks. i wonder if the engineers ever considered putting divots in the concrete to allow the asphalt to adhere to it like leggo blocks? or coating the concrete like a mason does before pargeing a basement wall. it all falls on below grade material and how its put down. i have to commend the city for their paving the streets of the highest traffic, its a joy to drive on the new asphalt, theres a definite difference even in the sound of my tires on it. but please work on the transitions. theres ppl who come to a complete stop before crossing them and an accident is in the future

  2. @John Rothwell….they’re putting down the final layer of asphalt at the CBSA, not repairing problems.
