DOMESTIC INCIDENTS
(North Dundas) – On June 27th, 2014 at approximately 5:00pm, SD&G OPP officers responded to a report of a domestic situation at a property on Moffat Street in the Village of Morewood, North Dundas Township. Investigation indicated that an altercation between a male and his ex-spouse resulted in the man assaulting the female.
The 50 year old male (from Russell Township) was arrested and is charged with;
– Assault
He was released and is scheduled to appear in Cornwall court on July 17th, 2014.
(North Dundas) – On June 28th, 2014 at approximately 12:30pm, SD&G OPP officers responded to a report of harassment and threats at a property on County Road 43, North Dundas Township. Investigation indicated that a male had made repeated contact with his ex-spouse and uttered threats to her.
The 28 year old male (from Smiths Falls, Ontario) was arrested and is charged with;
– Criminal Harassment
– Utter Threats (2 counts)
– Fail to Comply with Probation Order
He was held in custody pending a court appearance (bail) in Cornwall.
(South Glengarry) – On June 30th, 2014 at approximately 2:15pm, SD&G OPP officers responded to a report of a domestic situation at a property on 4th Line Road, South Glengarry Township. Investigation indicated that an altercation had taken place between a male and his girlfriend while travelling in a vehicle, resulting in the female being threatened. Further information revealed the vehicle was driven in a dangerous manner and the female was refused exit from the vehicle.
The 35 year old male (from Cornwall, Ontario) was arrested and is charged with,
– Utter Threats
– Forcible Confinement
– Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle
He was released and is scheduled to appear in Cornwall court on August 5th, 2014.
(North Glengarry) – On July 1st, 2014 at approximately 6:45pm, SD&G OPP officers responded to a report of a domestic situation on County Road 34, North Glengarry Township. Investigation indicated that a male and his common-law spouse had been cycling when they became involved in a verbal altercation. This resulted in the male assaulting the female.
The 22 year old male was arrested and is charged with;
– Assault
He was released and is scheduled to appear in Cornwall court on July 15th, 2014.
IMPAIRED DRIVERS
(South Glengarry) – On June 30th, 2014 at approximately 8:00pm, SD&G OPP officers were conducting Reduce Impaired Drivers Everywhere (RIDE) checks on County Road 2 at the intersection of Purcell Road, South Glengarry Township. A check of a vehicle revealed the male driver was under influence of alcohol.
Marc LEFEBVRE (44) of North Glengarry was arrested and is charged with;
– Driving while Ability Impaired
– Driving with More than 80 milligrams of Alcohol in Blood
– Drive Motor Vehicle with Open Container of Liquor (Liquor Licence Act)
He was released and is scheduled to appear in Alexandria court on July 9th, 2014.
(South Stormont) – On June 30th, 2014 at approximately 9:00pm, SD&G OPP officers responded to a report of a vehicle in the ditch on Saunders Avenue in the Village of Long Sault, South Stormont Township. Investigation revealed the male driver was under the influence of alcohol.
Thomas O’SHEA (54) of South Stormont was arrested and is charged with;
– Driving While Ability Impaired
– Care or Control Over 80 Milligrams
He was released and is scheduled to appear in Cornwall court on July 10th, 2014.
(South Glengarry) – On July 2nd, 2014 at approximately 2:00am, an SD&G OPP officer had the occasion to check a vehicle on Old Highway 2, South Glengarry Township. The check revealed the driver was under the influence of alcohol.
Glen BIRMINGHAM (46) of Toronto, Ontario was arrested and is charged with;
– Driving while Ability Impaired
– Care or Control Over 80 Milligrams
He was released and is scheduled to appear in Alexandria court on July 24th, 2014.
DRUGS SEIZED
(North Glengarry) – On June 28th, 2014 at approximately 10:00pm, SD&G OPP officers had the occasion to intercept a male on Park Street in the Town of Alexandria, North Glengarry Township. This resulted in the seizure of a small quantity of suspected marihuana and methamphetamine.
Terry TESSIER (25) of North Glengarry Township was arrested and is charged with;
– Possession of a Controlled Substance (2 counts)
He was released and is scheduled to appear in Alexandria court on August 6th, 2014.
(North Glengarry) – On June 29th, 2014 at approximately 9:00pm, SD&G OPP officers had the occasion to intercept a vehicle on Kenyon Street in the Town of Alexandria, North Glengarry Township. The stop resulted in the seizure of a small quantity of suspected marihuana and methamphetamine.
Corey MICHAUD (19) of North Glengarry was arrested and is charged with;
– Possession of a Controlled Substance (2 counts)
– Obstruct Justice
He was released and is scheduled to appear in Alexandria court on August 6th, 2014.
SPEEDERS INTERCEPTED
Over the past Holiday Weekend, SD&G OPP officers conducting speed enforcement intercepted several vehicles for excessive speeds resulting in the impoundment of the noted vehicles and seizures of the driver’s permits.
– 27Jun14, 4:30pm – Highway 401, South Glengarry Township, 2014 Fiat clocked traveling 154km/h in a 100 km/h zone. 42 year old male from Caledon, Ontario charged.
– 28Jun14, 5:00pm – County Road 2, South Dundas Township, 2005 Yamaha motorcycle clocked traveling 136km/h in a 80 km/h zone. 25 year old male from North Grenville, Ontario charged.
– 29Jun14, 1:30pm – Highway 401, South Dundas Township, 2014 Volkswagen clocked traveling 155km/h in a 100 km/h zone. 21 year old male from Montreal, Quebec charged.
– 29Jun14, 2:15pm – Highway 401, South Glengarry Township, 2013 BMW clocked traveling 162km/h in a 100 km/h zone. 48 year old male from Toronto, Ontario charged.
– 29Jun14, 4:15pm – Highway 401, South Glengarry Township, BMW clocked traveling 152km/h in a 100 km/h zone. 46 year old male from Montreal, Quebec charged.
– 01Jul14, 11:00pm – Highway 401, South Dundas Township, 2012 Nissan clocked traveling 159km/h in a 100 km/h zone. 24 year old male from North York, Ontario charged.
BREAK-IN
(North Glengarry) – On June 27th, 2014 between 4:30pm and midnight, a residence on Harrison Street was forcibly entered. Taken from within the home are the following; Playstation video console and assorted games, a quantity of alcohol, cash, jewellery and food, television, Ipod, laptop computer and assorted tools.
An investigation continues.
