IMPAIRED DRIVING CHARGES

(South Glengarry) – On July 19th, 2014 at approximately 3:45am, an SD&G OPP officer had the occasion to intercept a vehicle on County Road 34, South Glengarry Township. The stop revealed the male driver was under the influence of alcohol.

Jonathan RICARD (21) of Les Cedres, Quebec was arrested and faces several charges, including;

– Driving While Ability Impaired
– Young Driver – Blood Alcohol Content Above Zero (Highway Traffic Act)

He was released and is scheduled to appear in Alexandria court on August 6th, 2014.

(North Stormont) – On July 19th, 2014 at approximately 6:15pm, SD&G OPP officers responded to a report of a single vehicle rollover collision on Concession Road 1-2, North Stormont Township. The investigation revealed the male driver was under the influence of alcohol.

Wade KROPP (18) of Russell Township was arrested and is charged with;

– Driving While Ability Impaired
– Driving with More than 80 Milligrams of Alcohol in Blood

He was released and is scheduled to appear in Cornwall court on August 7th, 2014. Only minor injuries resulted to the occupants (3) in the vehicle.

(South Glengarry) – On July 20th, 2014 at approximately 1:30am, an SD&G OPP officer had the occasion to intercept an All-Terrain Vehicle (ATV) on Willow Avenue in the Glendale Sub-division, South Glengarry Township. The stop revealed the male driver was under the influence of alcohol.

Shane TURCOTTE (23) of Cornwall, Ontario was arrested and is charged with;

– Driving While Ability Impaired
– Driving with More than 80 Milligrams of Alcohol in Blood
– Driving While Under Suspension (Highway Traffic Act)
– Drive Off-Road Vehicle-No Insurance (Highway Traffic Act)

He was released and is scheduled to appear on the criminal charges in Alexandria court on August 6th, 2014.

ASSAULT

(North Glengarry) – On July 19th, 2014 at approximately 9:00pm, SD&G OPP officers responded to a report of an assault at a property on Dominion Street in the Town of Alexandria, North Glengarry Township. Investigation indicated that two (2) adult males had confronted another and damaged a vehicle and assaulted the victim.

Justin LEBRUN (25) and Brandon LESSARD (20) both from North Glengarry were arrested and each charged with;

– Assault
– Mischief Under $5000

During his arrest, a small quantity of suspected marihuana was seized from LESSARD. He faces an additional charge of;

– Possession of a Controlled Substance

Both were released and are scheduled to appear in Alexandria court on September 3rd, 2014.

MISCHIEF

(South Dundas) – On July 20th, 2014 at approximately 6:00pm, SD&G OPP officers responded to a report of domestic situation at a property on County Road 4, South Dundas Township. Investigation indicated that an altercation between a male and his spouse resulted in the accused causing damage within the home.

The 48 year old was arrested and is charged with;

– Mischief-Domestic Under $5000

He was released and is scheduled to appear in Cornwall court on August 12th, 2014.

(South Dundas) – On July 20th, 2014 at approximately 6:45pm, SD&G OPP officers responded to a report of a collision involving 2 vehicles on Highway 401, South Dundas Township. Investigation revealed that the driver of one of the vehicles involved became upset and caused further damage to the other vehicle.

Philippe OLIVIERI (49) of Oakville, Ontario was arrested and is charged with;

– Mischief Under $5000

He was released and is scheduled to appear in Morrisburg court on September 2nd, 2014.

(South Glengarry) – On July 20th, 2014 at approximately 10:15pm, SD&G OPP officers responded to a report of a domestic situation at a property on County Road 18, South Glengarry Township. Investigation indicated that a verbal altercation between a female and her boyfriend resulted in the female causing damage to the victim’s property. Further investigation revealed the female had also disclosed false allegations involving the male.

The 21 year old female was arrested and is charged with;

– Mischief-Domestic Under $5000
– Public Mischief

She was released and is scheduled to appear in Cornwall court on August 12th, 2014.

TRAFFIC STOPS RESULT IN CHARGES

(North Stormont) – On July 20th, 2014 at approximately 4:45pm, an SD&G OPP officer intercepted a vehicle for speeding on Highway 138, North Stormont Township. The stop resulted in the seizure of a small quantity of suspected cocaine and marihuana from the male driver.

Matt RICHARD (22) of Clairmont, Alberta was arrested and is charged with;

– Possession of a Controlled Substance (2 counts)

He was released and is scheduled to appear in Cornwall court on August 5th, 2014.

(North Dundas) – On July 20th, 2014 at approximately 8:45am, SD&G OPP officers responded to a report of a vehicle in the ditch on County Road 31, North Dundas Township. Investigation revealed that the male driver’s licence privileges were disqualified resulting from a previous incident. Further details also indicated he was in breach of a probation order.


James WILLIAMS (56) of North Dundas Township was arrested and is charged with;

– Driving While Disqualified
– Fail to Comply with Probation Order
– Driving While Under Suspension (Highway Traffic Act)

He was released and is scheduled to appear in Morrisburg court on September 3rd, 2014.

BREACH OF CONDITIONS

(North Stormont) – On July 19th, 2014 at approximately 3:00am, SD&G OPP officers responded to a report of a disturbance at a property on Nelson Street in the Village of Finch, North Stormont Township. The investigation identified a male involved who was in breach of conditions imposed from a previous incident.

Nathan COLEMAN (27) of Ottawa, Ontario was arrested and is charged with;

– Fail to Comply with Probation Order (3 counts)

He was held in custody pending a court appearance (bail) in Cornwall.

THEFTS

(North Stormont) – Between July 16-18th, 2014 an All-Terrain Vehicle (ATV) was taken from a property on Concession 7-8, North Stormont Township. It is described as a 2009 Kawasaki K4R, green in color.

(South Stormont) – Overnight (17-18Jul14) a Honda 5HP wood splitter was taken from a property on North Branch Road, South Stormont Township.

(North Dundas) – Overnight (19-20Jul14), a vehicle was entered while parked at a property on Queen Street in the Village of Chesterville, North Dundas Township. Inside, a purse containing personal documents was taken.

Investigations continue in all above incidents.

EXCESSIVE SPEEDS – VEHICLES/LICENCES SEIZED

Over the past weekend, SD&G OPP officers conducting speed enforcement intercepted the following vehicle travelling at high rates of speed on Highway 401. In all incidents, vehicles were impounded and licences were seized for 7 days as per legislation.

– 18Jul14 – 12:15pm, vehicle clocked in South Glengarry at 156km/h (100km/h zone). 29 year old female driver from Cornwall, Ontario charged.

– 18Jul14 – 4:15pm, vehicle clocked in South Stormont at 156km/h (100km/h zone). Male driver (info not available) charged.

– 18Jul14 – 8:00pm, vehicle clocked in South Stormont at 154km/h (100km/h zone). 30 year old male driver from Ottawa, Ontario charged.

– 19Jul14 – 8:45am, vehicle clocked in South Stormont at 153km/h (100km/h zone). 38 year old female driver from Etobicoke, Ontario charged

– 20Jul14 – 9:15pm, vehicle clocked in South Glengarry at 162km/h (100km/h zone). Further information indicated the driver’s driving privileges to be suspended. 20 year old male driver from Laval, Quebec charged.
