BREACH, PERSONATION

 

Cornwall, ON – Andre Paul, 47 of Cornwall was arrested on December 6th, 2014 and charged with personation and breach of probation for having consumed alcohol and failing to keep the peace. It is alleged that in the early morning hours of December 6th, 2014 police spoke with the intoxicated man who falsely identified himself to police as he was walking in the area of Montreal Road and Carleton Street. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and later released to appear in court on January 8th, 2015.

 

Cornwall, ON – A 17-year-old Chesterville youth was arrested on December 6th, 2014 and charged with personation, possession of methamphetamine and breach of undertaking for being out past curfew and failing to keep the peace. It is alleged that on December 6th, 2014 the intoxicated youth falsely identified himself to police as he was walking in the area of First Street and Gloucester Street. He was taken into custody and found to be in possession of a controlled substance and out past curfew. He was charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released as per provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

SD&G OPP

IMPAIRED DRIVERS
(North Glengarry) – On December 6, 2014 at approximately 8:45am, SD&G OPP officers were conducting Reduce Impaired Drivers Everywhere (RIDE) check on County Road 20, North Glengarry Township. A check of a vehicle indicated that the adult male driver was under the influence of alcohol.

Christopher NEWTON (20) of North Glengarry Township was arrested and is charged with;

– Driving a Motor Vehicle while Ability Impaired
– Driving a Motor Vehicle with More than 80 Milligrams of Alcohol in Blood

He was released and scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Alexandria on January 7, 2015.
(North Stormont) – On December 6, 2014 at approximately 5:05pm, SD&G OPP officers responded to a report of a vehicle being driven erratically on Highway 138, North Stormont Township. The vehicle was intercepted and the stop resulted in a small quantity of suspected heroin being seized from within the vehicle.

Mary-Ellen MONTGOMERY (42) of North Grenville Township was arrested and is charged with;

– Possession of a Controlled Substance
– Careless Driving (Highway Traffic Act)

She was released and scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cornwall on January 8, 2015.

On December 7, 2014 at approximately 1:19am, SD&G OPP officers responded to a report of a vehicle in the ditch on Concession 1-2, North Stormont Township. Investigation indicated that the adult female driver was the same as in the above incident and that she was under the influence of a drug.

MONTGOMERY was again arrested and further charged with;

– Care or Control of as Motor Vehicle While Impaired by a Drug

She was held in custody pending an appearance (bail) at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cornwall today (December 8, 2014).
(South Glengarry) – On December 7, 2014 at approximately 3:08am, SD&G OPP officers responded to a report of a vehicle being driven erratically on County Road 2, South Stormont Township. The vehicle was intercepted and a check of the adult male driver indicated that he was under the influence of alcohol.

John SHAVER (20) of South Glengarry Township was arrested and is charged with;

– Driving a Motor Vehicle while Ability Impaired
– Driving a Motor Vehicle with More than 80 Milligrams of Alcohol in Blood
– Young Driver-Blood Alcohol Content Above Zero (Highway Traffic Act)

He was released and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Alexandria on December 23, 2014.

Officers also arrested the adult male passenger as he withheld information and property belonging to SHAVER. Tristan LALONDE (18) of South Glengarry Township is charged with;

– Obstruct a Peace Officer

He was released and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Alexandria on January 7, 2015.

DOMESTIC INVESTIGATION
(South Dundas) – On December 6, 2014 at approximately 7:47pm, SD&G OPP officers responded to a report of a domestic situation at a residence on Riverside Drive, South Dundas Township. Investigation indicated that an altercation between a female and her ex-boyfriend resulted in the female assaulting and threatening the male.

The 20-year-old female was arrested and is charged with;

– Assault
– Utter Threats

She was released and scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cornwall on January 6, 2015.

 

DRUGS SEIZED

(South Glengarry) – On December 5, 2014 at approximately 9:05pm, SD&G OPP officers responded to a request for assistance from Ministry of Transportation Ontario (MTO) members at a site (MTO scales) on Highway 401, South Glengarry Township. Investigation indicated that a check of a commercial vehicle resulted in the seizure of a small quantity of suspected marihuana.

A male passenger, Marjan MIJIC (33) of Richmond Hill, Ontario was arrested and is charged with;

– Possession of a Controlled Substance

He was released and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Alexandria on February 4, 2015.
THEFTS
(South Stormont) – Overnight, December 6-7, 2014, a commercial property located on County Road 18, South Stormont Township was entered. Large quantities of assorted cigarette brands were stolen.
(North Glengarry) – Overnight, December 6-7, 2014, a trailer and forestry clear cutting equipment was stolen from a property on County Road 30, North Glengarry Township. The items are described as;

– Homemade enclosed aluminum trailer, 16’, white/black, bearing a Quebec plate
– 1999 Tiger Cat 860 Feller Buncher, yellow

Investigations continue in the above incidents.

WARRANT

 

Cornwall, On – David Moquin, 36 of Cornwall was arrested on December 6th, 2014 on the strength of a warrant for having breached his probation conditions. It is alleged that the man breach his probation conditions and a warrant was issued for his arrest. On December 6th, 2014 the man attended police headquarters to deal with the matter. He was taken into custody on the strength of the warrant and released to appear in court on January 8th, 2015.

 

MISCHIEF UNDER $5000, BREACH

 

Cornwall, ON –    Brandon Lalonde, 20 of Cornwall was arrested on December 7th, 2014 and charged with mischief under $5000 and breach of probation for failing to keep the peace. It is alleged that on December 7th, 2014 during an argument at a Leonia Street address the man damaged a window and police were contacted to investigate. During their investigation the man was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on January 13th, 2015.

 

ASSAULT, MISCHIEF, ASSAULT WITH A WEAPON

 

Cornwall, ON – A 23-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on December 7th, 2014 and charged with assault, assault with a weapon and mischief under $5000. It is alleged that during an argument with his 21-year-old girlfriend on December 7th, 2014 the man pushed her to the ground, grabbed her by the back of her neck, motioned to strike her with a chair and damaged her cell phone. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. During their investigation the man was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released as it might identify the victim in the matter.

 

ASSAULT, CHOKING, THREATS

 

Cornwall, ON – A 24-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on December 7th, 2014 and charged with assault, threats and overcoming resistance (choking). It is alleged that during an argument with his 19-year-old girlfriend on December 7th, 2014 the man pushed her, choked her and threatened to kill her. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. During their investigation the man was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released as it might identify the victim in the matter.
