kpa san 1Kingston Police is seeking a holiday Grinch who absconded with a singing Santa Claus overnight.

On Wednesday, December 10, 2014 at 2:20 a.m. a male suspect approached the front entrance of Stinson’s gas station located at the corner of Princess Street and Victoria Street. He approached the human-sized figurine found just outside the front entrance and pulled the top half off the legs and plywood platform.

kps san 2The suspect then fled by the gas pumps, crossing Princess Street to the northwest corner of the intersection, where it appears he joins two other people on the sidewalk, one possibly a female. All three are last seen walking westbound on Princess Street towards Macdonnell Street.

The male suspect is described as Caucasian, 20-40 years old, medium to heavy build, dark hair that is possibly longer at the back and possibly a small moustache. He is wearing a red ball cap with a black brim that has a graphic on the front, possibly a circular reflective sticker on the brim and a small reflective sticker on the rear centre, a black button-up waist-length coat with a crest on the left breast and a large graphic on the back, a lighter-coloured hoodie underneath, dark pants and dark shoes.

Teenager Approached by Male Driver

Detectives of the Kingston Police Major Crime Unit are investigating an incident where a female teenager was approached by a male stranger at the intersection of Bagot Street and Charles Street.

Shortly before 7:30 a.m. on Thursday, December 11, 2014 the female was walking alone in the area when the male suspect, sitting in a blue minivan parked on Charles Street, told her to get in the vehicle. The teenager refused and ran away on Bagot Street. She last heard the van driving westbound on Charles Street.

The male is described as Caucasian, 40-50 years of age, short white hair described as messy, medium build, clean shaven, wearing glasses and a dark jacket. The van is believed to have Ontario licence plates.

Cornwall Community Police Service

WARRANT

 

Cornwall, ON – Raymond Gervais, 48 of Cornwall was arrested on December 10th, 2014 on the strength of a probation office warrant. It is alleged that the man breached his probation conditions and a warrant was issued for his arrest. On December 10th, 2014 the man was located at an Alice Street residence, taken into custody and later released to appear in court on December 23rd, 2014.

 

Cornwall, ON – A 34-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on December 10th, 2014 on the strength of a warrant. It is alleged that during the month of November, 2014 the man communicated with his 38-year-old ex-girlfriend by way of phone messages despite being on conditions not to contact her. Police were contacted and to investigate and a warrant was issued for his arrest. On December 10th, 2014 police attended the Cornwall Courthouse as the man was being held on an unrelated matter. He was taken into custody and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released as the charges stem from a domestic incident and may identify the victim.

 

THREATS

 

Cornwall, On – A 27-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on December 10th, 2014 and charged with threats to life. It is alleged that the man threatened to kill his 20-year-old girlfriend and police were contacted to investigate. On December 10th, 2014 the man was located at his residence, taken into custody and charged accordingly. He was transported to police headquarters and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released as it might identify the victim.

SD&G OPP

FATAL HOUSE FIRE
(North Dundas) – On December 10, 2014 at approximately 11:25pm, SD&G OPP officers responded to a report of a house fire on Sesame Street in the Village of Winchester, North Dundas Township. North Dundas Fire Department members were on scene to extinguish the fire. Further investigation led to the discovery of human remains of one victim inside the home.

Investigators from the Ontario Fire Marshall (OFM) and the Coroner’s Office, assisted by SD&G OPP officers continue the investigation.
STORM TRAFFIC RESULTS
(SD&G) – The recent snowstorm to hit the area of the United Counties of SD&G resulted in adverse road conditions for motorists. As of 8:00am today (December 11, 2014), SD&G OPP officers have responded to a total of 32 (Stormont-13, Dundas-2, Glengarry-17) storm related traffic calls for service. This pertains to collisions and vehicles in ditches/medians. Fortunately, only a few minor injuries resulted.

Officers and towing operators will be removing vehicles from ditches and medians throughout the day…please drive with care to ensure their safety!

DRUGS SEIZED
(South Stormont) – On December 8, 2014 at approximately 3:06pm, SD&G OPP officers responded to a report of a vehicle in the median on Highway 401, South Stormont Township. Further investigation resulted in the seizure of a small quantity of suspected marihuana and cocaine.

The male driver, Yan DI TOMASSO (25) of Saint-Lin-Laurentides, Quebec was arrested and is charged with;

– Possession of a Controlled Substance

A female passenger, Carolann DENIS (19) of Saint-Jerome, Quebec was also arrested and is charged with;

– Possession of a Controlled Substance (2 counts)
– Fail to Comply with Probation Order (4 counts)

Both were released and scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cornwall on January 7, 2015.

 

THEFT OF COPPER WIRE
(North Dundas) – Over the past weekend, a locked compound situated on Emma Street in the Village of Chesterville, North Dundas Township was entered. Inside culprit(s) removed a large amount (approximately 900’) of copper wire.

An investigation continues.

Press Release

R.I.D.E. programs were conducted at several locations in the city over the weekend.

One roadside screening device test was conducted as a result. There were no impaired drivers discovered and no charges laid as a result.

Police remind people to arrange for taxis and designated drivers over the holidays. RIDE programs will continue at different times and locations during this time.

On December 7th, Brockville Police were dispatched to a residence in the center area of the city in regards to a domestic dispute.

Police discovered the dispute was unfounded but one of the parties involved was wanted on a warrant for failing to attend court.

The 26 year old, local male was arrested and held in custody. He will appear in bail court later today.

On December 7th, Brockville Police were dispatched to a call in front of The Phoenix bar for a disturbance.

A local 27 year old male was found to be intoxicated and screaming and yelling at people in the area.
He was arrested for causing a disturbance by being drunk and breaching conditions of his probation.
He was released when sober with a future court date.

On December 6th, Brockville Police were dispatched to a hotel in the north end of the city in regards to problems with a guest.

A 50 year old male from the Cardinal area was found to be drinking and in possession of drugs.
He was charged with breaching conditions of an outstanding recognizance and possession of the drugs.
He was released with a future court date.

Brockville Police received a complaint from the Brockville Jail.

A 30 year old male failed to report for his weekend sentence. Police are in the process of obtaining a warrant for his arrest.
