Cornwall PoliceTHREATS, BREACH

 

Cornwall, ON – Sean Herdman, 54 was arrested on February 10th, 2015 and charged with threats to life and breach of recognizance for failing to keep the peace. It is alleged that during an argument on February 10th, 2015 the man threatened to kill a 56-year-old man that is known to him and police were contacted to investigate. During their investigation the man was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.

 

CRIMINAL HARASSMENT, BREACH, THREATS

 

Cornwall, ON – A 20-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on February 10th, 2015 and charged with criminal harassment, threats to life and breach of recognizance for communicating with and being within 100meters of his 18-year-old ex-girlfriend. It is alleged that on February 10th, 2015 the man followed his ex-girlfriend around town and threatened to kill the 20-year-old passenger of her car. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. During their investigation the man was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released as it might identify the victims in the matter.

 

WARRANT

 

Cornwall, ON – Dustin Paul, 20 of Cornwall was arrested on February 11th, 2015 on the strength of a warrant. It is alleged that on February 3rd, 2015 the man failed to attend court for an assault charge and a warrant was issued for his arrest. On February 11th, 2015 the man attended police headquarters to deal with the matter. He was taken into custody on the strength of the warrant and held for a bail hearing.

 

Cornwall, ON – Petra Decle, 19 of Cornwall was arrested on February 11th, 2015 on the strength of a warrant. It is alleged that on February 10, 2015 the woman failed to attend court for an assault charge and a warrant was issued for her arrest. On February 11th, 2015 the woman attended police headquarters to deal with the matter. She was taken into custody on the strength of the warrant and held for a bail hearing.

 

ASSAULT

 

Cornwall, ON – A 22-year-old Cornwall woman was arrested on February 12th, 2015 and charged with assault. It is alleged that during an argument with her 25-year-old ex-boyfriend on February 11th, 2015 the woman punched him in the face and police were contacted to investigate. During their investigation the woman was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. Her name was not released as it might identify the victim in the matter.

Ontario Provincial Police News Portal [LANARK COUNTY] LANARK COUNTY OPP WARN OF DOOR TO DOOR SOLICITORS POSING AS ONTARIO POWER AUTHORITY INSPECTORS 2015-02-11

(Mississippi Mills, ON) –  The Lanark County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is advising the community to be aware of persons posing as furnace inspectors representing the Ontario Power Authority.  A woman in the Clayton area was solicited at her front door and pressured into setting up and appointment to have her furnace and hot water tank inspected the next day.

She became suspicious and contacted the Ontario Power Authority.  She was advised that The Ontario Power Authority does not solicit door to door or by phone and does not hire anybody to do so for them.

The woman was able to cancel the appointment before they attended her residence again. She was not able to identify the contract company.

People should always ask for identification before opening the door to unsolicited sales persons and be careful to whom they are letting into their homes. Once these aggressive sales persons are let in it is very hard to get them out without a yes to their services.  Residents are encouraged to take their time and make an informed decsion.

Ontario Provincial Police News Portal [HAWKESBURY] SEARCH WARRANT IN ST-EUGENE 2015-02-11

PROJECT PARADIGM IS A DRUG ENFORCEMENT TEAM COMPRISED OF OFFICERS FROM THE ONTARIO PROVINCIAL POLICE DRUG ENFORCEMENT UNIT AND OPP DETACHMENTS IN EASTERN ONTARIO

(St-Eugene, ON) On February 5th, 2015, members of the Organized Crime Enforcement Bureau – Drug Enforcement Unit (DEU) –  Community Drug Action Team- with the assistance of Tactics Rescue Unit (TRU) executed a Search Warrant in the village of St-Eugene, resulting in the following charges.

Roger BEAUDRY (44) of St-Eugene was arrested and charged with the following:

o             Produce a schedule II substance (Cannabis Marihuana) C.D.S.A. Section 7(1)

o             Four counts of Possession of Firearm or Ammunition contrary to Prohibition Order C.C. 117.01(1)

Two counts Fail to comply with Probation Order C.C. 733.1(1)

Possession of a Schedule I Substance – Cocaine C.D.S.A. Section 4(1)

 

Genevieve HARDY (30) of St-Eugene was arrested and charged with the following:

o             Produce a schedule II substance (Cannabis Marihuana) C.D.S.A. Section 7(1)

o             Possession of a Schedule I Substance – Cocaine C.D.S.A. Section 4(1)

All 2 accused will appear in the Ontario Court of Justice, L’Orignal. Roger BEAUDRY is to return on the 18th of February 2015.Genevieve HARDY is schedule to return on the 25 February 2015.

YOUTH CHARGED WITH ASSAULTS

(South Glengarry) – On February 10 at approximately 7:36pm, 2015 Stormont, Dundas & Glengarry (SD&G) Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers responded to a report of a family dispute at a residence on Celtic Lane, South Glengarry Township. Investigation indicated that an altercation between a male youth and a family member resulted in the youth assaulting the family member on three (3) occasions.

The 15-year-old youth was arrested and is charged with;

– Assault (2 counts)
– Assault with a Weapon (water bottle thrown at victim)
– Fail to Comply with Undertaking

He was held in custody pending an appearance (bail) at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cornwall today (February 11, 2015).
THEFTS

(South Dundas) – On February 10, 2015 at approximately 9:34am, SD&G OPP officers responded to a report of theft from a commercial property on County Road 2, South Dundas Township. Investigation indicated that between February 8-10, 2015, a quantity of copper wire and aluminum trim was stolen.

(North Stormont) – On February 10, 2015 at approximately 4:23pm, SD&G OPP officers responded to a report of a break-in at a residence on Sandringham Road, North Stormont Township. Investigation indicated that during daylight hours of February 10, 2015, culprit(s) forcibly entered the home and stole a watch.

Investigations continue in the above incidents.
