Cornwall, On – Rene Delorme, 52 of Cornwall was arrested on March 9th, 2015 and charged with transportation fraud, threats and breach of probation and undertaking for failing to keep the peace. It is alleged that in the early morning hours of March 9th, 2015 the man failed to pay for a taxi ride when he entered a residence on Maple Street. The man then threatened to punch the driver in the face if when he inquired about the fare. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. During their investigation the man was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.

 

WARRANT

 

Cornwall, ON – Ahmed El-Karim, 33 of Cornwall was arrested on March 9th, 2015 on the strength of a warrant. It is alleged that the man failed to attend court on January 14th, 2015 and a warrant was issued for his arrest. On March 9th, 2015 the man attended police headquarters to deal with the matter. He was taken into custody on the strength of the warrant and held for a bail hearing.

ASSAULT INVESTIGATION

(South Dundas) – On March 7, 2015, Stormont, Dundas & Glengarry (SD&G) Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) began an investigation into a report of an assault which occurred at a property on Prospect Road, South Dundas Township. Investigation indicated that an altercation between an adult male and his ex-spouse resulted in the male assaulting his ex-spouse’s current boyfriend who was at the scene.

On March 9, 2015, the 33-year-old male (from Cornwall, Ontario) was arrested and charged with;

– Assault Causing Bodily Harm
– Fail to Comply with Probation Order

He was released and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cornwall on April 14, 2015.
EXCESSIVE SPEED

(South Glengarry) – On March 9, 2015 at approximately 8:51pm, an SD&G OPP officer conducting speed measuring enforcement intercepted a vehicle for traveling 162km/h on Highway 401, South Glengarry Township (100km/h zone). A 33-year-old male from Dollard-Des-Ormeaux, Quebec was charged as per the Highway Traffic Act of Ontario. The vehicle was impounded and the driver’s permit seized for seven (7) days in accordance to policy.
