Big Drug Bust in Kingston – Regional Police Blotter – Friday March 3, 2015 #KPS #CCPS #OPP

ASSAULT, ROBBERY, MISCHIEF

Cornwall, ON – A 35-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on April 1st, 2015 and charged with robbery, mischief and three counts of assault. It is alleged that during arguments with his 48-year-old girlfriend on March 21st and 30th, 2015 the man pushed, slapped, punched and caused damage to his girlfriend’s phone that he took from her. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On April 1st, 2015 the man was located at a Brookdale Avenue address, taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released as it might identify the victim in the matter.

 

ASSAULT WITH A WEAPON, BREACH

Cornwall, ON – Amber Crowder, 27 of Cornwall was arrested on April 1st, 2015 and charged with assault with a weapon and breach of a peace bond for failing to keep the peace. It is alleged that on April 1st, 2015 the woman threw a chair at 58-year-old woman known to her striking her in the leg. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. During their investigation the woman was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.

 

BREAK AND ENTER

Cornwall, ON – A 47-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on April 1st, 2015 and charged with break and enter. It is alleged that on March 31st, 2015 the man attended his 30-year-old ex-girlfriend’s residence and forced his way into her residence. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. During their investigation the man was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released as it might identify the victim in the matter.

 

Cornwall, ON – A 45-year-old Moose Creek man was arrested on April 1st, 2015 and charged with criminal harassment and break and enter. It is alleged that on April 1st, 2015 the man forced his way into his 42-year-old ex-girlfriend’s house and police were contacted to investigate. During their investigation it was learned that the man had been warned by police not to communicate with the woman in the past. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released as it might identify the victim in the matter.

 

CARE AND CONTROL, OVER 80

Cornwall, ON – Wendy Barns, 62 of Cornwall was arrested on April 1st, 2015 and charged with care and control and over 80. It is alleged that on April 1st, 2015 the woman was found to be in care and control of a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol. She was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on April 7th, 2015.

FATAL MOTOR VEHICLE COLLISION

(South Glengarry) – On April 2, 2015 at approximately 8:18pm, Stormont, Dundas & Glengarry (SD&G) Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers responded to a report of a two motor vehicle collision on the eastbound lanes of Highway 401, South Glengarry Township.

Investigation indicated that a 2015 Dodge Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV), driven by a 62-year-old male from Mississauga, Ontario was eastbound when, for reasons under investigation, it collided with a 2005 Cadillac which subsequently left the roadway and rolled over, coming to rest in the westbound lanes. The male driver, Alain HADDAD (53) of Laval, Quebec was pronounced deceased at the scene from injuries sustained. An adult male passenger in the Cadillac received minor injuries while the driver and two adult female passengers in the SUV were not injured. A section of the westbound lanes of Highway 401 were closed to traffic for several hours.

SD&G OPP officers, assisted by OPP Technical Traffic Collision Investigators (TTCI) continue the investigation.

MAN CHARGED WITH SEXUAL OFFENCES

(North Dundas) – On March 25, 2015 Stormont, Dundas & Glengarry (SD&G) Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) began an investigation into a report of sexual assault incidents which occurred at a residence on Church Street, North Dundas Township. Investigation indicated that in the weeks prior, an adult male had sexually assaulted a female youth on two occasions.

On March 30, 2015, the 68-year-old male from Arnprior, Ontario was arrested and charged with;

– Sexual Assault on a Person Under 16 Years of Age (2 counts)
– Sexual Interference with a Person Under 16 Years of Age (2 counts)

He was held in custody pending an appearance (bail) at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cornwall. The name of the accused is not being released in order to protect the identity of the victim.
DRUGS SEIZED AT RIDE

(South Glengarry) – On April 1, 2015 at approximately 11:25pm, SD&G OPP officers were conducting Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere (RIDE) checks on County Road 2, South Glengarry Township. A check of a vehicle resulted in the seizure of a quantity of suspected marihuana.

Two male occupants in the vehicle, Alexandre BOURGET (22) of Cornwall, Ontario and Jeffrey PALFREY-DUTREMBLE (21) of South Stormont Township were arrested an each charged with;

– Possession of a Controlled Substance – Under 30 Grams

Both were released and are scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cornwall on May 13, 2015.

 

THEFT OF COPPER WIRE

(North Dundas) – On April 1, 2015 at approximately 8:13am, SD&G OPP responded to a report of stolen copper wire from a commercial property on County Road 43 (Chesterville area), North Dundas Township.

Investigation indicated that on March 30, 2015 between 11:00-midnight, culprits forcibly entered a storage container and removed an estimated 12 spools of copper wire. A smaller 4-door sedan vehicle was observed via surveillance camera.

Kingston Police Service

An investigation led by the Kingston Police Street Crime Unit has resulted in a large quantity of illicit drugs being seized and one local male arrested and charged with various offences.

KPS APRIl 4 15Commencing the evening of Friday, March 27th the accused attended an area outside of Kingston where property was received by the male. At approximately 2:30 a.m. on Saturday, March 28th the accused returned to the Kingston area and the Emergency Response Unit attempted near Highway 401 and Montreal Street to stop the GMC Yukon being driven by the accused, who then purposely and dangerously avoided being arrested.

The vehicle fled but was quickly recovered near the area of Montreal Street and John Counter Boulevard. The accused fled on foot, eventually hiding in a forested area near the Belle Park Fairways. The Canine Unit and members of Uniform Patrol assisted in setting up containment and searching for the male. Kingston Police Communications staff was also instrumental in locating the accused through filtering the information they received and what they then in turn released to officers on the ground. The accused was located and arrested at approximately 3:30 a.m.

Officers seized the truck and secured it at the Kingston Police station while a search warrant was applied for and executed. Located inside the vehicle was a very large amount of marihuana with a street value of approximately $212,000 and cocaine with a street value of roughly $7,000.

Kingston resident Nicholas N. CARR, 32 years of age, faces two counts of Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act and charges of Dangerous Driving and Fail to Stop for Police under the Criminal Code of Canada. He attended a weekend bail hearing and was remanded into custody with a future court date.
