Pastor Tom Newton on Bill 77 – Letter to the Editor – April 3, 2015

LTE UQueen’s Park is at it again in its support of sexual diversity. It is Bill 77 this time.

Bill 77 – “a bill that would ban therapy to ‘convert” gay and transgender children and youth….”, and even deny “OHIP coverage of conversion or therapy for adults intended to change their sexual orientation or gender identity”1. The bill is reported to have passed its second reading 52-0. Question – why no opposing votes? The bill’s creator NDP Cheri DiNovo – “The Radical Reverend” – had this to say: “In a rare moment, members from all three parties threw their support behind DiNovo’s bill giving it all party support.” Should we applaud, or bow our heads in shame?

Why is there no opposing voice from any party? The ramifications of the eventual passing of this bill will seal the doom for many of these confused ones in their sinful sexual orientation unless God’s grace intervenes. It will also make it illegal to try to convert these confused ones from the error of their way. Will this bill be used only to keep “doctors” in line, or will it also be used effectively to stop all evangelistic efforts of Christians? Another nail in the coffin for religious freedom in Canada.

In all this talk about gender equality, I have not heard of a gay gene being discovered. It will never be discovered. We are not created sexual deviants, but we fall into such sexual perversion by our voluntary rejection of God (Genesis 3). The Creator of all clearly declares “it is better if they were “straight”:

“Marriage is honorable in all, and the bed undefiled; but God will judge fornicators and adulterers (Hebrews 13:4).

And, yes, I agree that society needs fixing, but not by forcing Bill 77 upon us. Nor by implementing the New Ontario Sex Ed. Curriculum. Where is our liberty of conscience? Where is our freedom of religion? Is it the government’s job to try to “fix society”? The economic debauchery and the many past scandals of the current Liberal government speaks loud and clear how the current administration has repeatedly failed to “fix society”.

Shall we allow Bill 77 to seal the doom for such confused sexually-orientated ones? Shall we eliminate all voice of reason and right? I’m still waiting for the local Ontario opposition parties to respond as to why there is no voice of opposition. I wrote to them, “Are these results agreeable to you? If not, why the silence? It is time to stop being puppets who are only concerned with political correctness and economical prosperity, and start being the real voices for the people. Leadership with moral convictions – is that too much to ask?”.

Is that too much to ask?

  1. Maybe we need a bill for these poor confused righteous leaders who think that God did not makes these people exactly how their journey should be

  2. So, your continual attack on a person’s right to choose the way they live and choose their sexual preference continues. I’m not surprised.

If you don’t like it here Indiana is always an option.

  3. Unbelievable! Well, maybe not. Newton actually believes that taxpayers (OHIP) should fund the cure for homosexuality! If it wasn’t so sick and sad, it would be funny.

  4. Pastor Newton society is mighty sick in the head these days and people have lost their moral ground – they are morally and spiritually bankrupt. Some people see Bruce Jenner converting to a woman – he is one ugly looking woman. I blame Hollywood aka Hollyweird a mighty sinful, godless, sin city of insanity that perverted the weak minded. I am so mighty happy that I do not have young children in school nor any grandchildren because I would literally remove them from the schools. I get down on my knees and than the Good Lord that I don’t have to see any of this. You know Pastor that the Bible even says that society is going to get worse until He comes back and they will be a godless society of sinners. You are absolutely right on Pastor and I love everything you write. At least there is one person who loves what you post. We are in a mighty sick and perverted society today.

  5. Furtz OHIP should not fund transvestides at all and in the US Bruce Jenner along with others in his situation pay their own way and are not covered by any insurance. This is mighty sick and perverted. I was shocked when I saw Sonny and Cher’s beautiful little girl converting into a man. I still cannot get over that at all and Sonny would be rolling over in his grave to know that. Something is very wrong with these people as well as those of the general population. In past years you would hear about men as homosexuals but they hid themselves and things were not spoken about like today. Today that is all we hear about and what is worse is changing one’s sex. Even machines in humans that they want to put together is completely and totally against God. People are going to get severely punished whether you believe in God or not it is all true.

  6. Mary: the Bible records that mankind in Adam chose to rebel. According to the inspired record, God created Adam upright – holy, righteous, and having the ability with all the grace given to him to do right, but he chose not to. It is not God’s fault Adam chose to believe a lie. Now, we as Adam’s descendents must live out that lie by God’s just degree. “In Adam all died…”(1 Cor. 15:22). Sexual diversity or better yet biblical derivation from God’s norm is a sinful life choice! A continuation of Adam’s rebellion he started in the garden. God drove out Adam from the garden for his rebellion, and God will bar all who continues to rebel from Heaven. It’s His chose.

Hugger1 – why does the government have to protect “their peeps”? What about the rights of those that disagree – ok to force them into submission? Deny the rights of the few in order to allow the perversion of the many.

  7. Wrong Furtz – one is not cured of homosexuality, it is not a disease, like the common cold! Sexual diversity or better yet biblical derivation from God’s norm is a sinful life choice!

  8. You are absolutely right Pastor and there is something in the Bible about that particular subject but things are written in strange ways where very few can decifer it. Yes Furtz you go against nature and you pay the penalty that God will dish out. When God does show Himself to the world people will still be in denial and He will show His furry to the world.

  9. Pastor Furtz keeps asking about the talking snake not knowing or just pulling your leg. The talking snake represents the devil and the devil tempted Adam and Eve into sinning. They chose the wrong tree of life and it is about if you choose this tree you will be gods and live forever. Well they chose the wrong path and God punished them and that is why today we all die. If I was able to go into a bit of this but it is long and complicated. I listened to a man some years ago explain so much and this is mighty ancient history that is practiced today as a type of religion but those in the blue rooms don’t know that they are practicing this mighty ancient religion and think that it is just a charitable organization and to get work but it isn’t. It is the same with the Catholic ones, etc. and I won’t go into that here you may wonder what I am talking about but won’t reveal. The Pastor knows what I am saying unless I am twisting things for him as well.

  10. And down the rabbit-hole we go…..
    Carry on folks.

  11. Pastor Tom, Do you agree with everything the bible says ? Or do you pick and chose what’s valid in your arguements at the time? Better yet do you believe the bible is infallible ?

  12. Pastor Tom we are not perfect. A missing chromosome is all it takes not a “gay gene”. Live and let live Pastor Tom, God would approve.

  13. But David it remains for you to prove to me and to the world that such is the case. Speculation like the belief in evolution, and in a “missing chromosome” takes a kind of faith that many would classify as a religion. And as for God approving of such wickedness, or nonsense, His Word continues to speak loud and clear in condemnation, though we have purposely stopped our ears in rebellion.

  14. The Bible was written some 200 years after Christ, only talked about before that by illiterate followers & their descendants, was later put to paper & scrolls of the day, translated into different languages, some destroyed through time ,some embellished. To think that God would turn against any of his children is crazy,He loves them all.People should be able to love whomever,it is their God given right. They are not sinners for following their path to happiness, actually all gays that I know are beautiful smart & some very talented people who have learned to fight to be all they can be.Too bad that there is so much hate in this world, sad really that some people can not accept their differences & sadder yet is that they don,t accept blame for their own hate & try to say God said. Would be an even crazier world if we were all the same.God has set out a different journey for all His children & no one has the right to try & force others to be like them because they cannot accept those differences

  15. Author

Mary I find that we simply need to accept people for who they are. We don’t need to agree with them. We don’t need to be them, but everyone should be treated equally and fairly.

  16. I agree with you admin, wouldn,t it be a better world if we all could accept the differences of others, even when different from ourselves , live & let live

  17. Pastor Tom mapping the human genome was a 13 year project that launched in 1990 I believe and was completed in 2003. DNA sequencing is fact, not fiction or fairy tale. It is not up to me to prove anything Pastor Tom, that has already been done. The difficultly for you is that your choice of religion restricts your ability to accept scientific data as factual (we are not discussing “junk science” like rising seas, man made climate change etc).

  18. Human sexuality Pastor Tom is governed by two factors; genetics and choice. If God made man Pastor Tom then God is responsible for our genetic make up and our free will (reasoning). The conclusion derived then is that God made us what we are, flawed. Warts and all if God is love, then God loves all, gays, lesbians, transsexuals, transgendered and yes even heterosexuals. Life is not limited to our sexuality, that would be a rather shallow viewpoint, but rather encompasses our very existence and our continual challenge to survive and (gulp) evolve. You might be more comfortable with the term adapt. God bless you Pastor Tom.

  19. What is really disgusting and unforgivable is some one using a whacko religion as an excuse to make life miserable for others. Being consumed by hate is a mental disease, and there is therapy for that.

  20. Editor’s note.

You can’t try to censor someone while using a fake ID. That’s crazy.

  21. David – yes all of our reasoning is flawed, lets say “spiritual blinded” just like the Bible says, but the simple fact of divine revelation declares – God did not make us flawed! The Bible not only records the creation of all things which God pronounced as “good”, but also the fall of mankind into spiritual darkness(Gen. 3), which God calls foolishness. Divine revelation does not need scientific verification.

I suppose with your blinded, warped reasoning, you could say God loves all those in hell right now too!

  22. Yes people should be treated equally and fairly but unfortunately people are not treated in that way. I will try to get away from gays and make an example of how things are not fair. Take a good look at people’s race and see how black people are treated and always have been and the same goes for the Jews along with others. Gays always hid themselves never to be known except among their own kind. You would all be shocked to know who is gay and very famous here in Canada and married and children and living a double lifestyle. People would all be out throwing rotten tomatoes at them if they knew or whatever they had their in their possession. Another example is promoting certain people to certain positions just like what happens in Cornwall and other places of course and the hell with the rest. For whatever reason (even if you are white) people will always find fault about you. I myself cannot accept gays and sorry folks this is me. I have met some great people in Cornwall who are gay and that is the truth and very nice indeed but I cannot accept that at all. As far as Pastor Newton is concerned he is a good man out to try and save souls. As for the Bible it has been translated from many ancient languages. Ask my husband and he can tell you that you cannot translate word per word from Arabic to English. Not only that folks but ancient Greek, ancient Hebrew, ancient French, etc. is completely different to what we speak today. When I read some ancient French my jaw dropped wondering what the hell is this. Yes folks it is entirely different and you sure get lost in the translation.

  23. Jules:”Yes folks it is entirely different and you sure get lost in the translation”. Sorry Jules, this not so!

On the human side that can be so, but God promised that His Word would be preserved without error for all generations to come. One might say that is impossible? Is it impossible for God to create all things, the world, all living things out of nothing? By the word of His command. How about the miracle of the virgin birth? Pretty impossible when looking at just the human side of things. The virgin birth is a miracle. How about the resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ? Another impossibility, but God did it!

The Holy Scriptures in their writings, preservation, and translations, God has personally seen to it that His Word is not lost along the way. Think of how the Bible is hated by so many, and so many through out the ages have vowed to destroy it, but it still lives – the most read book of all times! Still number one today! Why is that?

I could search the world over for answers for this, but God gives us His answer – “Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever. For all flesh is as grass, and all the glory of man as the flower of grass. The grass withereth, and the flower thereof falleth away:
But the word of the Lord endureth for ever. And this is the word which by the gospel is preached unto you(1 Peter 1:23-25).

These verses tell us that God’s Word can not be corrupted and lives forever! Think of all the prophetic word that has been given about the first coming of Christ – not one verse has failed to be completely fulfilled. And that just as it was written. The Lord Jesus himself says -“the Scriptures can not be broken…”. This is true because the Living God of Heaven and earth has first given us His Word, and now He is seeing to that it is fulfilled and preserved just as He has commanded. A miracle, a human impossibility, but not impossible for God. Consider all the prophetic Word yet to be fulfilled in Christ’s Second coming.

So why do we hate this Word, the Holy Bible? It reads us like a book, and it tells us why we are the way we are – fallen sinners in rebellion to God. God, who created us, knows our hearts better than we do ourselves. Thank the good Lord that the Bible not only shows us our sin, but reveals the only Saviour given to mankind whereby we must be saved.

  24. Author

Morning and Happy Easter Pastor Tom.

  25. “So why do we hate this Word, the Holy Bible?”
I think it’s because people’s tolerance for BS is dropping as the population becomes more educated. That plus the endless bigotry and nastiness that seems to come with the package.
    Happy Easter everybody!

  26. Author

Tom we thought Melly was going to have to be put down Friday. She’s still here. That to me is an awesome Passover. I know her end is close, but each day is a gift.

    Happy Easter to everyone also!

  27. I’m trying to stay out of this one. I’ll let David Oldham and Furtz tackle PTN and Jules. When PTN goes on one of his rants, and then backed up by Jules I find it best to just sit in the corner and let the others have their “fun.”

  28. So if we go by what Pastor Tom believes I worked today so as per

    Exodus 35:2
“On six days work may be done, but the seventh day shall be sacred to you as the sabbath of complete rest to the LORD. Anyone who does work on that day shall be put to death.”

I guess I better go kill myself cause the bible is infallible right.

I have had my own experiences with the Holy Spirit but I don’t believe the God I pray hates me or anyone else. I believe the God I believe in loves us all, and yes even the ones in Hell.

  29. Hugger, it’s like playing Whack A Mole. Whenever bigotry and intolerance rears it’s ugly head, it has to be whacked.

  30. Pastor Tom the flaw was freedom of choice. What did Adam do in the garden of Eden but exercise his God given gift of freedom of choice. Get out your bible Pastor Tom and tell me otherwise.

  31. That’s right David, Adam exercised freedom of choice, which boils down to that he was a free agent(not a robot or a puppet). But after the fall, when the principal of sin entered into Adam’s nature – the belief of Satan’s lie: “ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil” now ruled Adam’s heart, soul and mind. The inspired account records for us the change that occurred in Adam’s nature – from a son and a lover of righteousness to slave to Satan and a lover of sin -darkness(Gen. 3).

So since the fall, we, Adam’s offspring, we know “good and evil”, but we lost the ability to do good! From loving servants of righteousness to hateful slaves of sin. Still free agents, but free only to sin. As sinners we can do nothing but sin – in thought, word and deed. We have not the desire nor the ability to rise above our sinful fallen nature.

And getting back to our topic at hand, as to how the fall of humanity effected our sexuality. There is a spiritual connection with idolatry and sexual perversion. We were made to worship and love the Living God,so when we worship other gods – people(Mary, Elvis, etc.), ourselves, animals, nature, fallen ideologies, and vile affections, etc. we are in essence committing spiritual adultery – we are being unfaithful to God. As religious adultery abounds in idolatry, so does physical sexual perversion in all its shapes and forms. This is how God punishes sin with more sin. He gives them over, gives them up, removes His restraining grace – He leaves sinners to fulfill their lustful desires. What we declare as “freedom or diversity” God declares as “vile affections”. God doesn’t force the sinner to sin for sin is his or her natural fallen element. Free to sin, but unable not to sin! In Bible terms this is called the doctrine of total depravity and total inability. No one, I say no one, except the Lord Jesus, is born without this fallen, sinful nature. No one has the ability to change their fallen nature, even Mary!

Jer 13:23 “Can the Ethiopian change his skin, or the leopard his spots? then may ye also do good, that are accustomed to do evil”.

Mat 12:34 “O generation of vipers, how can ye, being evil, speak good things? for out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh”.

  32. It’s said how “mole whackers” love to live in the dark. I guess it is just their nature – like a mole.

  33. One of the cool things about moles is that they don’t spend their lives promoting bigotry and hate.

  34. So your interpretation of the bible tells you that children are conceived out of sin into sin, offspring of the damned so to speak? That man is shrouded in wickedness until death provided that forgiveness has been sought and granted?

You may succumb to wickedness and evil and to the desires
of the flesh Pastor Tom but fortunately I am blissfully enjoying the life I have been granted, I make a concerted effort to be respectful to all, I rely heavily on my ability to reason and I acknowledge that there are forces greater than man.

  35. David – what the Word of God says of all includes you -“For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God…” (Rom. 3:23). Sinners can not atone for sins committed no matter what the religion they trust in.

And since you are fallen also in Adam -“…. for we have before proved both Jews and Gentiles, that they are all under sin; As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one: There is none that understandeth, there is none that seeketh after God. They are all gone out of the way, they are together become unprofitable; there is none that doeth good, no, not one”(Rom 3:9-12). So much for your ability to reason and the god of free will.

Your blissful efforts will never earn God’s favor nor His good will – Rom 3:20 “Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight: for by the law is the knowledge of sin”.

Without Christ’s atoning work charged to your account and received by faith alone, your hell will not be very blissful at all and the “forces” you speak of will not be able to deliver you at all. Doomed to a Devil’s hell.

  36. David, Mr Newton is dedicating his life to spread the good word of his loving god.
    Is that better Jamie?

  37. Mr. Oldham I being an RC can tell you that yes children are born in sin and that is what I learned from Cathechism since the Bible is not taught to we Christians. In French we call it “la tache original” in English “the original sin” and yes Pastor Newton is right indeed. So many people jump down Pastor’s back but he is telling all of you the truth. No it isn’t the fault of the babies born but all mortals are born with that sin. Only Jesus and Mary have escaped that sin. The rest of us are here to suffer the consequences. I sure do love Pastor’s quotes and explanations. I can’t help but laugh at Furtz.

  38. Furtz God so loved the world he condemned those to hell who do not recognize his love. Does that even make sense? There must be a kinder gentler God hovering around somewhere. Perhaps the Cayman Islands or Bora Bora, one can hope. Hell must be a little crowded.

  39. David, just stick with The Flying Spaghetti Monster and all will be well. The rules don’t permit me to express my disgust with Newton and his toxic preaching.

  40. Author

Now Furtz we don’t things turning into a Freeholder slag fest. You can challenge the ideas; just not make personal attacks. I’m sure you’re a creative enough fellow to communicate your positions.

  41. Challenging bigotry and hate can not always be handled delicately.

  42. Author

I agree Furtz. I have no idea with any idea or position being challenged on CFN. It just degrades into something far uglier when people make it personal. Likewise I don’t like it bleeding into other stories which is why we allow people to write a letter to the editor or essentially place their own soap box. Some will ignore the person; others may challenge. It’s about choices.

  43. Pastor Newton is quoting the Bible and I learned that in Cathechism in elementary school in French. All Protestant churches have their own laws but are all Christian. All those denominations including the Orthodox Christians of the Middle East are a breakoff of the Catholic church and all what Pastor is quoting is the absolute truth. If people here do not believe in Jesus or God then it means that you are atheist. The Pastor is trying to save souls and he is a good man. There are so many people who broke off from the faith and today the society itself is gone to hell – morally and spiritually bankrupt. I like Pastor Newton and I always look forward to having him here and his quotes and think about it folks I am Catholic and love what this man posts.

  44. Yes Jules, a lot of homophobic people turn to religion to back up their views. You are not alone, obviously. As a devout Pastafarian and ordained Dudeist priest, I still consider myself a born-again atheist.

  45. David writes -“God so loved the world he condemned those to hell who do not recognize his love”. Such a statement describes your twisted sinful mindset and reasoning, but not God’s at all. God’s revelation, His standard, the Word of God declares something totally different than your misconception and misrepresentation. That is why the Scriptures tell us – “God is light, and in him is no darkness at all”.

Sinners are judged for their sins that they have committed against God’s will – The Ten Commandments. To love God is the fulfill the Law, but since we are fallen sinners, we do not have the ability nor the desire to love God. If David, you were actually alive to God through Christ, you would see the beauty and loveliness of God and especially the glories of His Son – the Lord Jesus Christ. And you would see the reasonableness and wisdom in being like Christ, but since you choose to dwell in darkness, such is the case.

A word about Furtz – he displays his hatred towards God, His Word, and His Christ as he displays his own bigotry and hate towards Christian who want to obey God’s Word. Since I and many other Christians do not love Furtz’s cause – sexual perversion, he can only do one thing – speak evil of us. Such is a grievous transgression of the Law of God, which Furtz will have to answer for on the Day of Judgment, unless God and His grace saves him thereby atoning for all his sins. Remember Furtz -“Thou shalt not bear false witness…”(Ex. 20:16).

The cause that Furtz and others so heartily supports is destructive to the precious confused soul, and a direct attach upon God’s institution of marriage and the family. Bill 77 favors only a special class, while negating the rights of so many others. True love, in the greatness sense of the word, would not set by and allow this to happen. True love would never support or advocate such sexual perversion.

1Co 16:22 “If anyone does not love the Lord Jesus Christ, let him be accursed. The Lord comes!”

  46. Author

I want to again remind all to not comment or debate about each other. Debating a principle, idea, or statement is fine.

  47. No Newton, I don’t give a rat’s donkey what you or anyone else believes. I know all kinds of people who subscribe to all kinds of religions who are very fine people. What I object to and find repulsive, are cowardly bigots who use religion (any religion) as a club with which to bash whoever they happen to hate. And you, sir, have been doing exactly that incessantly for years.
