  1. The source of this cruelty to animals comes from our cruelty and hatred for one another. Dogs were not created in the image of God as we were, and to abort our offspring, the Bible calls this cruelty as being without “natural affection”. “Natural affection” is the Greek word for love for family.

In order to regain respect for the animal world, we have to be willing to love one another, even as God commanded, and displayed in giving His Son – an offering for our sins. As sinners, you and I have not the desire, ability, nor the capacity to love God, and to love as He loves. We lost all that in the fall, but God has not relinquished His right to demand and require such love from us. What the living God still requires from us – “Master, which is the great commandment in the law? Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself ( Mat 22:36-39).

1Co 16:22 “If any man love not the Lord Jesus Christ, let him be Anathema Maranatha”.

  2. I read that about the murder of a dog in Cornwall and was very sickened over it and Pastor Newton thank you for every word that you said which is so very true indeed. A lot of animals have more intelligence and compassion than a lot of humans and even my husband says that all the time. We love animals very much in my household – everyone of us and we love God very much and He is Supreme and is the guiding light for our life.
