FAIL TO ATTEND FOR PRINTS

 

Cornwall, ON – Jeffrey Inniger, 43 of Ottawa was arrested on September 28th, 2015 and charged with failing to attend for prints. It is alleged that man failed to attend for prints on September 24th, 2015 and an investigation ensued. On September 28th, 2015 the man attended police headquarters to deal with the matter. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on October 15th, 2015.

 

THREATS

 

Cornwall, ON – A 16-year-old Cornwall youth was arrested on September 28th, 2015 and charged with threats. It is alleged on September 22nd, 2015 the youth threatened a 14-year-old girl and a 15-year-old boy in by way of Facebook messages and police were contacted to investigate. On September 28th, 2015 the youth attended police headquarters to deal with the matter. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court at a later date. His name was not released as per provision of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

 

CRIMINAL HARASSMENT

 

Cornwall, ON – A 58-year-old Cornwall woman was arrested on September 28th, 2015 and charged with criminal harassment. It is alleged the woman repeatedly communicated with her 59-year-old ex-boyfriend by way of text messages despite having been warned by police not to. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On September 29th, 2015 the woman was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on October 29th, 2015. Her name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.

 

BREAK AND ENTER, POSSESSION OF A CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE, BREACH

 

Cornwall, ON – Michael Harding, 30 and Gregory Malenfant, 28 both of Cornwall were arrested on September 28th, 2015 and charged with break and enter, possession of a controlled substance and possession for the purpose of trafficking. Harding was also charged with breach of undertaking and probation for failing to keep the peace. It is alleged on September 28th, 2015 the two gained entry into a Brookdale Avenue residence without permission and police were contacted to investigate. Both were located at the residence, taken into custody and found to be in possession of methamphetamine. They were charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.

DRUG WARRANT

Cornwall, ON – As a result of an investigation by the Cornwall Community Police Service’s Street Crime Unit, a Drug Warrant was executed on a St Felix Street residence. Three individuals were arrested on September 23 and 24, 2015 and charged with Drug Possession, Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking, and Possession of Property Obtained by Crime.

Anthony Marini, age 24, of Cornwall, was taken into custody and charged with

Possession of Cocaine, Marihuana, Methamphetamine and Hydromorphone, Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking Cocaine and Methamphetamine, and Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5000. Mr. Marini is also bound by two Probation Orders with the relevant conditions to Keep the Peace and be of Good Behaviour and to not Possess Drugs. He was charged accordingly for the breaches. He was released to appear in court on November 10, 2015.

Blake Woods, age 22, of Ingleside, was taken into custody and charged with

Possession of Cocaine, Marihuana, Methamphetamine and Hydromorphone, Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking Cocaine and Methamphetamine, and Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5000. He was released to appear in court on November 10, 2015.

Jennifer Burles, age 28, of Cornwall, was taken into custody and charged with

Possession of Cocaine, Marihuana, Methamphetamine and Oxycotin, Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking Cocaine and Methamphetamine, and Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5000. She was released to appear in court on November 10, 2015.

OPP CHARGE MAN AFTER SHOOTING

(CALABOGIE, ON) – On September 26, 2015 at approximately 7:15PM, officers with the Lanark detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a shooting near 511 Highway and White Lake Road, Lanark, Highands.

A 23-year-old male from Wawa, ON received a non-life threatening injury while hunting on White Lake.

As a result of the investigation, 43-year-old Jason Elvin VAUGHAN, of McNab-Braeside Township was charged with Careless Use of a Firearm, contrary to the Criminal Code.

He was released on a Promise to Appear and Officer-In-Charge Undertaking to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice on October 26, 2015.

THIS WEEK IN RUSSELL COUNTY NEWS

(EMBRUN, ON) – The Russell County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is investigating several incidents after responding to 243 calls for service from Sunday September 20th to Saturday September 26th.  Among these occurrences OPP responded to 3 domestic disputes, 1 assault with a weapon, 1 fail to comply with court order and 6 drug offences. As a result of those occurrences, one female and eight males were charged with various offences.

Drug related offence

During the evening of September 21st, Provincial Constable Crystal LEBLANC conducted stationary radar enforcement at Highway 417 westbound. She observed a motor vehicle at a high rate of speed. She conducted a traffic stop and arrested the four males occupants from the province of Quebec for trafficking. Police located 45 grams of cannabis, 1.8 grams of cocaine and 14 pills.

The driver Raphael Levert, aged 19 of Montreal was arrested and charged with the following:

  • Possession of a Schedule II substance for the purpose of Trafficking- under 3 kg CDSA 5(2)

Kenley Barthelus-Simeon, aged 19 of Montreal was arrested and charged with the following:

  • Possession of a Schedule II Substance for the purpose of Trafficking – Cannabis Marihuana under 3 kilograms CDSA 5(1)

Kevin Altidort, aged 18 of Laval was arrested and charged with the following:

  • Possession of a Schedule II substance for the purpose of Trafficking- under 3 kg CDSA 5(2)

Mohamed Massis, aged 19 of Montreal was arrested and charged with the following:

  • Possession of a Schedule I Substance – Cocaine CDSA 4(1)
  • Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking – Cocaine CDSA 5(2)
  • Possession of a Schedule II substance for the purpose of Trafficking- under 3 kg CDSA 5(2)
  • Possession of a Schedule II substance – Cannabis Marihuana – under 30grams CDSA 4(1)

All the accused were released on a Promise to Appear and Undertaking with conditions not to associate with each other.  They are scheduled to appear at the L’Orignal Ontario Court of Justice on October 21st, 2015

Domestic Disputes

OPP officers investigated 3 domestic disputes from Sunday to Saturday.  No criminal offences occurred.

Assault

On September 20th, Russell County OPP arrested an 18 years old male that assaulted his mother. Male was charged with assault with a weapon and fail to comply with his recognizance. No injury was sustained and the names are not release to protect the victim identity.

Stolen equipments located

OPP offices located in Bourget a Case Excavator machinery and a float after receiving anonymous information.  The excavator had been stolen in the Hawkesbury area two days before.

(Rockland) On September 24th 2015, members of the Organized Crime Enforcement Bureau – Drug Enforcement Unit (DEU) executed a Search Warrant in the City of Clarence-Rockland, the result of an investigation by the Russell OPP Community Drug Action Team.

Investigators seized cannabis marihuana plants, cannabis marihuana, cannabis marihuana oil and cannabis marihuana “shake” with an estimated street value of 6000$.

Jennifer MAJOR (35) from Clarence-Rockland (ON), was arrested on Sept 28th 2015 and charged with the following:

  • Produce a schedule 2 substance (cannabis marihuana) C.D.S.A. Section 7(1)
  • Possession of a substance in Schedule 2 (cannabis resin) C.D.S.A. Section 4(1)
  • Possession of a substance in Schedule 2 (cannabis marihuana over 30 grams) C.D.S.A. Section 4(1)

Matthew WIERSMA (32) from Clarence-Rockland (ON), was arrested on Sept 28th 2015 and charged with the following:

  • Produce a schedule 2 substance (cannabis marihuana) C.D.S.A. Section 7(1)
  • Possession of a substance in Schedule 2 (cannabis resin) C.D.S.A. Section 4(1)
  • Possession of a substance in Schedule 2 (cannabis marihuana over 30 grams) C.D.S.A. Section 4(1)

The accused were released on a promise to appear and are scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice of Ontario in L’Orignal, (ON) on November 18th 2015.
