Elder Abuse in Cornwall Ontario – Regional Police Blotter OCT 5, 2015 OPP CCPS

IMPAIRED OPERATION, OVER 80

 

Cornwall, ON – Karl Van Leishout, 32 of Cornwall was arrested on October 2nd, 2015 and charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle and over 80. It is alleged on October 2nd, 2015 the man was operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol in the area of 1500Power Dam Drive. The man was taken into custody during an investigation into a suspicious vehicle call, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on October 15th, 2015.

 

BREACH

 

Cornwall, ON – Cameron Gabri, 19 of Cornwall was arrested on October 3rd, 2015 and charged with breach of undertaking for having consumed alcohol and failing to keep the peace. It is alleged on October 3rd, 2015 the man was spotted breaching his undertaking in the area of McConnell site hospital. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.

 

Cornwall, ON – A 16-year-old Cornwall youth was arrested on October 3rd, 2015 and charged with mischief under $5000 and five counts of breach of a youth probation order. It is alleged during an argument the youth punched a hole in a wall at his residence and police were contacted to attend. During their investigation it was also learned the youth breached his probation order for being out passed curfew, not attending school and failing to keep the peace. He was taken into custody at Montreal Road address, charged accordingly and released to appear in court at a later date. His name was not released as per provision of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

 

ASSAULT

 

Cornwall, ON – Stephane Denis, 42 of Glen Walter was arrested on October 3rd, 2015 and charged with assault. It is alleged the man pushed a 46-year-old man known to him during an argument on October 2nd, 2015 and police were contacted to investigate. On October 3rd, 2015 the man was located at a Pitt Street address, taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on October 29th, 2015.

 

Cornwall, ON – A 67-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on October 3rd, 2015 and charged with assault. It is alleged the man pushed his 66-year-old wife during an argument on October 3rd, 2015 and police were contacted to investigate. During their investigation the man was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.

 

 

BREACH

 

Cornwall, ON – Francois Ouellette, 57 of Cornwall was arrested on October 4th, 2015 and charged with breaching two probation orders for having consumed alcohol and failing to keep the peace. It is alleged on October 4th, 2015 the intoxicated man was spotted by a member of the Cornwall Community Police Service. He was taken into custody for breaching his conditions, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.

 

ASSAULT, THREATS, POSSESSION OF A CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE

 

Cornwall, ON – A 51-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on October 4th, 2015 and charged with assault, possession of marijuana and four counts of threats. It is alleged on October 4th, 2015 the man assaulted his 79-year-old mother and police were contacted to investigate. During their investigation the man was found to be in possession of a quantity of marijuana. He was taken into custody at which time he threatened to harm police officers and his mother. He was subsequently charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.

 

ASSAULT, MISCHIEF, THREATS, RESIST ARREST, ASSAULT POLICE, BREACH

 

Cornwall, ON – a 37-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on October 5th, 2015 and charged with assault, mischief, assault police, resist arrest, threats and breach of probation for failing to keep the peace. It is alleged during arguments in the month of September, 2015 the man damaged his girlfriend’s car, grabbed her by the throat and threatened to burn the house she lives in. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On October 5th, 2015 the man was located at a local bar, taken into custody after a brief struggle and brought to police headquarters where he spat on an officer and threatened to kill officers. He was charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.

BREACH

 

Cornwall, ON – Donald Greggain, 36 of Cornwall was arrested on October 1st, 2015 and charged with breach of undertaking for being under the influence of alcohol while outside his residence and failing to keep the peace. He was also charged with breaching a probation order for failing to keep the peace. It is alleged on October 1st, 2015 police were called to check on the well being of a possibly intoxicated man in the area of St.Felix Street and Second Street. The intoxicated man was located in the area, taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.

THEFT, BREACH

 

Cornwall, ON – A 29-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on September 30th, 2015 and charged with theft under $5000 and breach of probation for failing to keep the peace. It is alleged sometime in August, 2015 the man took his 19-year-old girlfriend’s phone and police were contacted to investigate. On September 30th, 2015 the man attended police headquarters to deal with the matter. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on November 3rd, 2015. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.

Ontario Provincial Police News Portal [GRENVILLE COUNTY (Kemptville)] Robbery October 3, 2015 Mac’s Convenience 2015-10-05

 FROM/DE: Grenville County – Prescott Detachment      DATE: October 5, 2015(Prescott, ON.) – The Grenville County Ontario Provincial Police are investigating a robbery that took place at a Macs Convenience on Park St. in the Town of Prescott.

Shortly after 6:00 p.m. on October 3, 2015 members of the Grenville County Ontario Provincial Police were dispatched to the robbery at this location. It was reported that a lone male entered the store and demanded all the money from the till. He then fled from the store. No weapons were observed during the robbery and no one was injured. A small amount of cash, cigarettes and food were taken.

The suspect is described as a white male, 5”5”, approx. 25 years of age, clean shaven. Last seen on foot traveling east on Park St.

The Grenville County Ontario Provincial Police, the Grenville County Crime Unit and the OPP Forensic Identification Unit attended the scene. The incident remains under investigation.

FROM/DE: Grenville County – Prescott Detachment      DATE: October 5, 2015(Prescott, ON.) – The Grenville County Ontario Provincial Police are investigating a robbery that took place at Mr. Gas on King St. in the Town of Prescott.

Shortly after 8:15 a.m. on October 3, 2015 members of the Grenville County Ontario Provincial Police were dispatched to the robbery at this location. It was reported that a lone male entered the gas bar and demanded money and cigarettes from the clerk before fleeing from the store. No weapons were observed during the robbery and no one was injured. A small amount of cash and cigarettes were taken.

The suspect is described as male, 5”6” – 5”7”, in his 20’s -30’s, scruffy facial hair, pale, sick looking wearing a grey sweater/jacket.  Last seen on foot traveling west on King St.

The Grenville County Ontario Provincial Police, the Grenville County Crime Unit and the OPP Forensic Identification Unit attended the scene. The incident remains under investigation.

IMPAIRED DRIVER

(South Stormont) – On September 30, 2015 at approximately 2:47pm, Stormont, Dundas & Glengarry (SD&G) Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers intercepted a vehicle on Highway 401, South Stormont Township. The investigation revealed that the adult male driver was under the influence of alcohol.

Evan LAFAVE (58) of South Stormont, Ontario was arrested and is charged with;

– Care or Control of a Motor Vehicle with Over 80 Milligrams of Alcohol in blood

– Driving a Motor Vehicle while Impaired

He was released and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cornwall on October 15, 2015.

EXCESSIVE SPEEDS

(North Stormont) – On September 30, 2015, SD&G OPP officer conducted speed measuring enforcement on County Road 43, North Stormont Townships and intercepted the following vehicle for traveling at excessive speeds. The vehicle was impounded and the driver’s permit seized for seven (7) days in accordance to policy.

– September 30, 2015 – 4:55pm (North Stormont); vehicle stopped travelling 150km/h (80km/h zone). Male driver (52) from South Stormont, Ontario was charged accordingly.

THEFT OF ATV

(North Dundas) – On September 30, 2015 at approximately 5:32pm, SD&G OPP responded to a report of the theft of an ATV from a property on Maurice Street, North Dundas Township.  Investigation indicated that sometime between (September 26-30, 2015) Culprit(s) removed a 110 Red CCGO Quad from the property.  The SD&G OPP are asking for the Public’s assistance with this occurrence.

Ottawa Man Charges with Sexual Assault and Child Luring

 

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Monday October 5th 2015   8:55 am

 

(Ottawa) — The Ottawa Police Service Sexual Assault and Child Abuse (SACA) Section has charged on Ottawa man following an investigation of Child Luring and Sexual Assault.

On October 1st 2015, the Ottawa Police Service received a report of an adult male, luring teenage children on-line. An investigation was commenced and it was learned that the male had made contact with one of the children.

Adam DUFRESNE, age 33 of Ottawa is charged with two counts of Sexual Assault, two counts of Sexual Interference, two counts of Child Luring and three counts of breaching a Section 161 Order. He is scheduled to appear in court on Monday October 5th 2015.

SACA investigators are concerned that there could be other victims.

Guns and Gangs investigate shooting on October 3rd 2015

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:    Saturday October 3rd 2015         8:12 pm

 

(Ottawa)–The Guns and Gangs unit are investigating a report of a sound of a gunshot and recovered projectile in the 1400 block of Heron Road.

 

On October 3rd 2015 at approximately 07:00 AM east patrol officers responded to a recovered projectile which was located in an apartment building in the area.  A canvass resulted in witness’ confirming a sound of a gunshot heard at approximately 03:00 AM.  No persons were injured in relation to the incident.

 

The Ottawa Police Guns and Gangs Unit is currently investigating the matter.
