Francis Lessard Back on the Ice As Team Appeals for Fans to Support River Kings in Cornwall Ontario JAN 2, 2016

CORNWALL Ontario – River Kings veteran forward Francis Lessard returns to the lineup this evening as Cornwall hosts Laval at the Civic Complex. The puck drops at 7:30 p.m.

Head coach Bob Desjardins is asking local hockey fans to come out and support their team like they’ve done in past seasons.

Cornwall is a hockey town and we need the support now,” said Desjardins. “If the fans show up, there will be a show.”

The veteran bench boss would love to see more fans in the stands on Saturday evening.

I remember the old times, it was tough to come to Cornwall and win,” said Desjardins. “It was intimidating to play here and the fans were a big part of that.”

The first 250 fans on Saturday night will receive a free River Kings foam puck. There will also be a free raffle for a 32” LCD television.

Steve Moreau is a great owner and the family is doing everything possible to make this work,” said Desjardins. “It’s time to give back to the owner and I promise the fans will see a great game, which is what they deserve.”
