Couple Charged After Spat in South Stormont – OPP Round Up for JAN 26, 2016

IMPAIRED DRIVER

(South Stormont) – On January 22, 2016 at approximately 8:38am, Stormont, Dundas & Glengarry (SD&G) Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers responded to a report of a motor vehicle collision on Highway 401, South Stormont Township. Investigation indicated that an adult female driver of a vehicle involved was under the influence of alcohol.

Marisleidis ENRIQUEZ-BADIA (35) of Montreal, Quebec was arrested and is charged with;

– Driving a Motor Vehicle with Ability Impaired
– Driving a Motor Vehicle with More than 80 Milligrams of Alcohol in Blood

She was released and scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cornwall on February 2, 2016.

DRUGS SEIZED

(South Stormont) – On January 22, 2016 at approximately 10:05pm, SD&G OPP officers were conducting Reduce Impaired Drivers Everywhere (RIDE) checks at the intersection of Power Dam Drive and Atchison Road, South Stormont Township. A check of a vehicle resulted in the seizure of a quantity of suspected marihuana.

The male driver, Devin MCALLISTER (36) of South Glengarry Township was arrested and is charged with;

– Possession of a Controlled Substance – Under 30 Grams

He was released and scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cornwall on March 1, 2016.
(South Dundas) – On January 23, 2016 at approximately 2:06am, SD&G OPP officers were conducting RIDE checks at the intersection of County Road 2 and Augusta Street, South Dundas Township. A check of a vehicle resulted in the seizure of a quantity of suspected marihuana.

The male driver, Quinten HUNTER-RHODES (20) of Woolwich Township, Ontario and male passenger, Jonah GRAHAM (18) of East Garafraxa Township, Ontario were both arrested and each charged with;

– Possession of a Controlled Substance – Under 30 Grams

Both were released and scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Morrisburg on March 1, 2016.

DOMESTIC INVESTIGATION

(South Stormont) – On January 23, 2016 at approximately 1:29pm, SD&G OPP officers responded to a report of a domestic incident at a residence in the Village of Long Sault, South Stormont Township. Investigation indicated that an altercation between an adult male and his spouse resulted in both assaulting each other.

A 37-year-old male and 23-year-old female from South Stormont Township were arrested and each charged with;

– Assault – Spousal

Both were released and scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cornwall on February 23, 2016.
