THEFT UNDER, BREACH, ASSAULT WITH A WEAPON, WARRANT

 

Cornwall, ON – Rene Lang, 45 and Amanda Laplante, 32 both of Cornwall were arrested on February 22nd, 2016 and charged accordingly. Laplante was charged with theft under $5000 and assault with a weapon. Lang was charged with theft under $5000, breach of probation for attending a specific store and failing to keep the peace. He was also taken into custody on the strength of an outstanding warrant. It is alleged on February 22nd, 2016 both attended a Ninth Street store and removed a quantity of meat making no attempt to pay for the items as they left the store. They were stopped by the Loss Prevention Officers at which point Laplante threw a box of pastry at one of the Loss Prevention Officers. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. During their investigation both were taken into custody and charged accordingly. Laplante was released to appear in court on March 29th, 2016 while Lang remained in custody for a bail hearing.

Cornwall, ON – An 18-year-old Cornwall woman was arrested on February 22nd, 2016 and charged with two counts of assault and one count of mischief under $5000. It is alleged during arguments in the month of February, 2016 the woman pushed and scratched her 18-year-old boyfriend and damaged his television. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. During their investigation the woman was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. Her name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.
