Busy Weekend for #CCPS Cornwall Ontario Police Blotter APRIL 4, 2016

MISCHIEF

Cornwall, ON – An 18-year-old woman and a 19-year-old man both from Cornwall were arrested on April 1st, 2016. It is alleged during an argument on April 1st, 2016 the man damaged his girlfriend’s phone and the woman damaged an interior door at their residence. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. During their investigation the woman was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court at a later date. The man was also taken into custody after a brief struggle and charged with obstruct police, mischief and assault police for punching an officer in the face. He was held for a bail hearing. Their names were not released as it would identify the victims in the matter.

BREACH

Cornwall, ON – Scott Morris, 42 of Cornwall was arrested on April 1st, 2016 and charged with breach of undertaking for failing to notify a change of address and failing to keep the peace. It is alleged the man failed to notify a change of address and an investigation ensued. On April 1st, 2016 the man was spotted by a member of the Cornwall Community Police Service in the area of Montreal Road and Alice Street. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.

IMPAIRED, OVER 80

Cornwall, ON – Carter Cook, 23 of Cornwall was arrested on April 2nd, 2016 and charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle and over 80. It is alleged in the early morning of April 2nd, 2016 the man was found to be operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol in the area of Brookdale Avenue and Sarah Street. He was taken into custody during a traffic stop, charged accordingly and released to appear in court at a later date.

Cornwall, ON – Lucie Hebert-Myers, 50 of Ingleside was arrested on April 4th, 2016 and charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle and over 80. It is alleged on April 4th, 2016 the woman was operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol in the area of Ridgewood Drive. She was taken into custody during a traffic stop charged accordingly and released to appear in court at a later date.

Cornwall, ON – Paula Fahy, 49 of Long Sault was arrested on April 4th, 2016 and charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle and over 80. It is alleged on April 4th, 2016 the woman was operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol in the area of Cumberland Street and Ninth Street. She was taken into custody during a traffic stop, charged accordingly and released to appear in court at a later date.

BREACH, POSSESSION OF A CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE, CARRY A CONSEALED WEAPON, WEAPONS DANGEROUS

Cornwall, ON – A 37-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on April 2nd, 2016 and charged with breach of recognizance for being out past curfew, having consumed alcohol and being in possession of a controlled substance. He was also charged with being in possession of a weapon and breach of probation for attempting to communicate with his ex-wife and failing to keep the peace. It is alleged in the early morning hours of April 2nd, 2016 the intoxicated man attended his ex-wife’s residence and police were contacted to investigate. During their investigation the man was located and found to be in possession of a knife and a quantity of pills and marijuana. He was charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.

BREAK AND ENTER, POSSESSION OF BREAK IN TOOLS

Cornwall, ON – A 16-year-old and 17-year-old youth both from Cornwall were arrested on April 2nd, 2016 and charged with break and enter and possession of break in tools. It is alleged on April 2nd, 2016 the youths forced their way into a business on Saunders Drive and caused damage to the building and contents. Police were contacted and located the youths in the area of the Civic Complex. They were taken into custody and found to be in possession of break in tools. Both were charged accordingly and released to appear in court at a later date. Their names were not released as per provision of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

ASSAULT, OVERCOME RESISTANCE, BREACH

Cornwall, ON – A 32-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on April 3rd, 2016 and charged with assault, overcome resistance (choking) and breach of probation for failing to keep the peace. It is alleged during arguments on April 3rd, 2016 the man slapped and choked his 25-year-old girlfriend and police were contacted to investigate. During their investigation the man was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.
