Student Knife Charge in Cornwall Ontario #CCPS APRIL 11, 2016

FAILT TO REMAIN, IMPAIRED, OVER 80

Cornwall, ON – Guy Prevost, 40 of Ingleside was arrested on April 8th, 2016 and charged with fail to remain at the scene of an accident, impaired operation of a motor vehicle and over 80. It is alleged the man was operating a motor vehicle on April 8th, 2016 while under the influence of alcohol in the area of Vincent Massey Drive when he struck a cyclist and fled the scene. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. During their investigation the man was located, taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on April 21st, 2016. The cyclist suffered minor injuries and did not seek medical attention at the time of the investigation.

IMPAIRED OPERATION, OVER 80

Cornwall, ON – Corey Bigtree-Thompson, 26 of Hogansburg was arrested on April 9th, 2016 and charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle and over 80. It is alleged on April 9th, 2016 the man was operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol in the area of Pitt Street and Second Street. He was taken into custody during a traffic stop, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on April 21st, 2016.

Cornwall, ON – Carlo Pettinicchio, 41 of Cornwall was arrested on April 11th, 2016 and charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle and over 80. It is alleged on April 11th, 2016 the man was operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol in the area of Montreal Road and Carleton Street. He was taken into custody during a traffic stop, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on April 21st, 2016.

POSSESSION OF A WEAPON FOR A DANGEROUS PURPOSE, THREATS, BREACH

Cornwall, ON – A 14-year-old Cornwall youth was arrested on April 8th, 2016 and charged with possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, threats and breach of undertaking for failing to keep the peace. It is alleged on April 7th, 2016 school staff seized a knife from the youth and on April 8th, 2016 police were contacted to investigate as it was learned the youth threatened two students. During their investigation the youth was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court at a later date. His name was not released as per provision of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

THREATS, CRIMINAL HARASSMENT, BREACH

Cornwall, ON – A 21-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on April 10th, 2016 and charged with threats to life, threats to injure an animal, criminal harassment and breach of three probation orders for failing to keep the peace. It is alleged on April 7th, 2016 the man contacted his ex-girlfriend on several occasion and threatened to harm her and her dog. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On April 10th, 2016 the man attended police headquarters to deal with the matter. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.

FRAUD OVER $5000, UTTER FORGED DOCUMENT, THEFT UNDER $5000

Cornwall, ON – Juanita Cree, 53 of Cornwall was arrested on April 8th, 2016 and charged with fraud over $5000, utter forged document and theft under $5000. It is alleged during 2015 the woman uttered a forged document for a lease agreement with a computer company on behalf of the company she was working for and used the company credit card to purchase items without the owner’s consent. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On April 8th, 2016 the woman attended police headquarters to deal with the matter. She was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court at a later date
