OPP Charge Siblings With Stunt Driving on 1000 Islands Parkway MAY 24, 2016

(LEEDS, ON.) –   Officers of the Leeds Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police are continuing an investigation resulting in two local young people being charged with stunt driving.
On the 23rd of May 2016 at about 9:30 PM O.P.P officers from Leeds and the Thousand Islands Detachment stopped an 18 year old female from Gananoque on the 1000 Islands Parkway for stunt driving. Her speeds were 66 km over the speed limit. About 20 minutes later her 20 year old brother, also of Gananoque, was stopped for stunt driving after a stunt incident where he caused his tires to lose traction on County Road 2.
Both drivers were charged under the Highway Traffic Act and are scheduled to appear in court on the 6th of July 2016 and the 29th of June 2016 respectively.
Both vehicles were towed and impounded for 7 days.
The investigation continues.
