Rains to Start Tuesday Afternoon

Rainfall warning in effect for:
- Cornwall – Lancaster
- Maxville – Alexandria
- Morrisburg – Long Sault
- Winchester – Newington
A significant widespread rainfall is expected beginning late this morning or early this afternoon and overnight or early Wednesday morning. The rain will be heavy at times with general amounts of 40 to 60 mm likely. A few thunderstorms are also expected.
The system responsible for this rainfall is a moisture-laden disturbance from Texas.
Heavy downpours can cause flash floods and water pooling on roads. Localized flooding in low-lying areas is possible.
Rainfall warnings are issued when significant rainfall is expected.
