Speeding & Offences Near Brockville Ontario AUG 16, 2016 OPP

LEEDS COUNTY OPP CHARGE FOR TRAFFIC OFFENCES

 

(BROCKVILLE, ON) – Between the 30th of July and the 4th of August 2016, Leeds County Ontario Provincial Police (O.P.P) Officers charged drivers for numerous traffic offences.

On the 30th of July 2016 at around 10:15 a.m. on Highway 401 in the Township of Front of Leeds and Lansdowne, a 2000 red Toyota Corolla travelling in excess of 130 km/hr.   The car was stopped and the driver 27 yr old, Udobong Michael AKPAN of Ottawa was charged for speeding.  The driver was also issued a summons for Drive While under Suspension.  He will appear in Brockville Court on 31st of August 2016.

On the 30th of July 2016 at around 12:50 p.m. an O.P.P officer observed a brown 2005 Chevrolet mini-van on Main St. on Wolfe Island in the township of Frontenac Islands being driven with 2 male youths in one seat and not wearing seatbelts.  The driver, a 40 yr old woman from Wolfe Island was issued a summons for Operate without insurance,  Drive while passenger under 16 fails to properly wear seatbelt and  Drive no currently validated permit.   She will appear in Kingston Ontario Court on the 29th of August 2016.

On the 31st of July 2016 at around 7:55 p.m. an OPP officer, patrolling Highway 15, near the village of Portland, observed a 2015 Honda Civic driving in excess of 125 km/hr in an 80 km/hr zone.  The car was stopped and the driver, 57 year old, Dwight LUBITS, of Ottawa was charged for Stunt Driving, he will appear in Brockville Ontario Court on the 31 August 2016.

On the 4th of August 2016 at around 8:05 p.m. police observed a brown Oldsmobile 88 driving on Hwy 15 near the village of Portland.  The car was stopped, the driver an 87 yr old Buddy SINCLAIR of Bastard South Burgess Township was charged with drive no insurance, drive suspended, drive no validated permit, and use validation not furnished for vehicle. He will appear in Brockville Ontario Court on the 7th of September 2016.
