ALERT – Possible Floods as Cornwall Ontario Expects 100+MM Rain & Snow OCT 20, 2016

Cornwall ON – From Thursday to Saturday a good umbrella and boots will be needed as the region will be pummeled by up to 100mm of rain over the three days as temperatures drop to zero.

Sunday’s low of -2 will remain through Monday meaning precipitation is expected to turn to snow.

CFN suggests that those most vulnerable prepare for the first storm of the year.   Stay tuned for updates.

Rainfall warning in effect for:

  • Cornwall – Lancaster
  • Maxville – Alexandria
  • Morrisburg – Long Sault
  • Winchester – Newington

Rain, at times heavy, is expected.

Rain will spread into the region today and will likely become heavy at times during the evening and overnight hours.

Periods of rain are expected to persist through Friday and potentially Saturday as well.

Rainfall amounts for Thursday and Friday could total between 45 and 70 mm, with further amounts possible on Saturday.

If visibility is reduced while driving, turn on your lights and maintain a safe following distance.

Rainfall warnings are issued when significant rainfall is expected.
