DANGEROUS OPERATION OF A VEHICLE
(North Stormont) – On November 2, 2016 at approximately 11:01pm, an Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Stormont Dundas and Glengarry officers attempted to intercept a vehicle for a Highway Traffic Act Violation on County Road 9, North Stormont Township. The vehicle was located and failed to comply with the request and continued on until it was successfully intercepted by officers on County Road 9, North Stormont Township. The stop resulted in the seizure of a quantity of suspected Methamphetamine. The investigation also revealed that the adult males driving privileges have been suspended stemming from previous driving related offences.
Marc LONGCHAMPS (36) of Russell, Ontario is charged with;
– Fail or Refusal to Provide Sample
– Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle
– Flight While Pursued by Peace Officer
– Possession of a Controlled Substance
– Driving while Disqualified
He was held in custody pending an appearance (bail) at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cornwall.
BREACH OF CONDITIONS
(South Stormont) – On November 2, 2016 at approximately 4:38pm, SD&G OPP officers responded to a report of male breaching his release conditions in Frost Avenue, South Stormont Township. Investigation indicated that the adult male was in contravention of conditions (Not to possess electronic device) stemming from a previous incident.
William MCDONALD (22) of South Stormont Township was arrested and is charged with;
– Fail to Comply with a Recognizance
He was held in custody pending an appearance (bail) at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cornwall.
DOMESTIC INVESTIGATION
(North Stormont) – On November 2, 2016 at approximately 9:36pm, Stormont Dundas & Glengarry Ontario Provincial Police responded to a report of a domestic situation at a residence on Beaver Street in North Stormont Township. Investigation indicated that an altercation between an adult male and his ex-common law spouse had occurred. Information was received that the male had assaulted the female victim and had caused damage within the home.
An adult male (34) from Cornwall, Ontario was arrested and is charged with;
– Assault
– Mischief
The male was released and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cornwall on November 29, 2016. The name of the accused person is being withheld in order to protect the identity of the victim.
