Crack & Machete Lead to Charges in Cornwall Ontario NOV 15, 2016

DOMESTIC

Cornwall, ON – A 16 year old Cornwall youth was arrested on November 14, 2016. He is currently bound by a Probation Order with the relevant condition to keep the peace and be of good behaviour. He is also bound by an Undertaking Order with the relevant conditions to notify CCPS of any address change and to keep the peace and be of good behaviour. It is alleged that over the past couple of weeks he has repeatedly attempted to communicate with his estranged girlfriend by text and attended outside at her residence despite being asked to stop and to leave. Police were contacted and an investigation was conducted. The youth was charged with 2 counts of Criminal Harassment, 2 counts of Breach of Undertaking and 1 count of Breach of Probation. He was held for a Bail Hearing. His name is not being released as per provisions under the Youth Criminal Justice Act and in order to protect the identity of the victim.

ASSAULT WITH WEAPON AND DRUGS

Cornwall, ON – Jesiah Davis, age 22, of Cornwall was arrested on November 15, 2016. He is currently bound by a Probation Order with the relevant conditions to abstain from drugs, not to carry weapons, and to keep the peace and be of good behaviour. It is alleged that on this date he attended a First Street East residence, demanding to get in. Three neighbours who were in the immediate area were assaulted with an edged weapon. Police attended and took the man into custody. When he was searched subsequent to arrest a quantity of a substance believed to be crack cocaine and a machete were located. He was subsequently charged with 3 counts of Assault with a Weapon, Possession of a Dangerous Weapon, Carrying a Concealed Weapon, Drug Possession and Trafficking, as well as 3 counts of Breach of Probation. He was held for a Bail Hearing. While in custody he smeared feces on the cell wall. As a result he was charged with Mischief Under $5000. One of the victims in this incident suffered minor injuries as a result of the assault.
