Ottawa Police Charge Man with 30 Counts of Break & Entering NOV 28, 2016

Suspect charged in a series of break & enters

 

(Ottawa) — The Ottawa Police Service Break & Enter Unit has been investigating a series of break-ins to storage lockers in west Ottawa. A number of charges have now been laid.

Between September 8 and November 18, 2016, the Ottawa Police received a number of reports regarding break-ins to storage lockers at two complexes. The complexes are situated along Bongard Avenue and Cleopatra Drive. On November 18, 2016, private security at one of the complexes discovered two suspects on site. Police attended, located and arrested one of the suspects at the scene. The second suspect was not located at the time.

As a result of the investigation, Elgin MONTAGUE, age 40 of Gatineau, is charged with the following offences in relation to twenty-one (21) cases:

*       Thirty (30) counts of breaking & entering

*       Eleven (11) counts of mischief

*       One count (1) of possession of property obtained by crime

Mr. Montague appears in court next on November 30, 2016.

The second suspect remains at large and is unidentified.
