Update #1   TRACTOR TRAILERS INVOLVED IN FATAL COLLISION

Highway #417 Westbound Re-Opened and Deceased Identified

 (EAST HAWKESBURY TOWNSHIP, ON)  On November 29, 2016 at approximately 3:40 a.m., officers from Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Hawkesbury detachment, paramedics, Hawkesbury Fire Department and OPP Technical Traffic Collision Investigators (TTCI) attended the scene of a motor vehicle collision on Highway 417 westbound lanes in East Hawkesbury Township.

The collision involved three (3) tractor trailer units, with two (2) of  vehicles being fully consumed by fire and one fatality resulted from the collision.

The deceased male has been identified as 36 year old, Alexandre Roberge from St-Mathieu-De-Beloeil, Quebec.

Highway 417 westbound was closed at County Road 14 but re-opened at 8:20 p.m..

The investigation into the cause of the collision is still ongoing.
